New Challenge at Inkspirational

Hi friends!
I'm here with my DT card for the new challenge at Inkspirational:

I decided to CASE a card by the fabulous Laura Jane (card photo below): she created this card for Altenew blog hop back in July. Read all about her card details HERE. Thank you Laura Jane for giving me the permission to CASE your amazing card!

I was inspired by Laura Jane's background stamping and layout and also used a die cut Altenew flower as she did. I don't have oval dies so I opted for circles. I used only one strip of black card to make my design a bit more CAS. I colored my flower with Copics and added lots of Stickles to the flowers too. Love the sparkle!

I'm also inspired by the current Year in Review challenge at Altenew and that's why I went with black background stamping instead of grey. The inspiration board I used is from November 2018.

I'd also like to join:

Thanks for popping by and I hope you liked my card! Now head on over to our challenge blog to have a look what my design teamies created. You'll love all the inspiration and will want to play along for sure! xxx

Time Out Challenges Reminder!

Hi friends!
After more than one month away from blogland I'm back making DT cards and joining in challenges. Glad to be back! Also, let me apologize for not sending Christmas cards this year -I received wonderful cards from you blogging friends and they all made my day big time!!

Now let's have a look at our current challenge at TIME OUT, still running for about one week:

This challenge is sponsored by the wonderful STAMPlorations, our regular sponsor. Thank you Shery for sponsoring us once again!

I've lately received a lot of help and support from friends and colleagues and now when I'm crafting again I want to create a bunch of Thank You-cards. I created this card with fabulous stamps and dies by Altenew. The coloring of the flowers is with Copics with lots of detail from gel pens. I have an obsession that I can't leave my colored images untouched, I always need to add something extra! :) The color palette is inspired by the current 2018 Year in Review challenge at Altenew. I chose the inspiration photo from July 2018.

New Challenge at Less Is More!

Hi friends!
At Less Is More we have our final challenge for 2018 for you -after this challenge we'll be back in January! Our last challenge for 2018 is a one layer challenge and a very good one for those last minute Christmas cards:

This time our guest designer is the talented Katrina. She and our design team have made fun samples for you... Looks like we are all in the mood for Christmas! :)

I made a super simple and quick card using a snowflake stencil, two colors of ink, an old make up brush for spreading the ink + a CAS-ual Fridays stamps sentiment for the greeting. I think this greeting is so perfect for CAS -it's pretty much all you need for a quick card! I used a blue rhinestone as my one and only embellishment in the "i" in the word Christmas... I think this took 5-10 minutes to make :)

This challenge is sponsored by Happy Little Stampers! I look forward seeing what you'll create.

New Challenge at Inkspirational!

Hi friends!
We have a new challenge for you at Inkspirational:

I went with "Magical Christmas" due to a beautiful holiday sentiment stamp I have from CAS-ual Fridays stamps. Also the snowflakes I used are their stamps. I've stamped some of them with very pastel colored inks (I thought this was an unrealistic and therefore magical choice!) and then embossed some of them with pearl white powder. The sentiment is heat embossed with grey powder. The card is very pretty and soft looking IRL but taking the photo in the dark November weather we have here in Finland was a pain... Please click the photo larger for a bit more detailed image.

Do head on over to our challenge blog for more inspiration from my DT buddies, you'll love what you see! Thanks for popping by!

Time out Challenges Reminder!

Hi friends!
I'm here to remind you of our current challenge at Time Out, where we are inspired by one of our Home Sweet Home photos. Before I'll show you the photo I'll also mention that our blog has a fabulous new look including new badges! I'm sure you'll love it. :) Here's the new players badge:

And now let's get into the photo.

I was inspired by Christmas look, the square shape of the pillows and the overall color palette. I love the fresh, Scandinavian look my card turned out to have! Sorry for the dark photo though... We haven't seen sun in weeks. :( You'll have to just take my word that the white is white IRL! The die is by Marianne Designs and the sentiment is from a Winnie and Walter set.

I hope you'll join us! This challenge is sponsored by the amazing Altenew and our guest designer this time is Mughda. Love her unique card making style! Don't miss any of the inspiration, head on over to our challenge blog, with the new fantastic look, HERE!

New Challenge at Less Is More!

Hi friends!

We have a new challenge for you at Less Is More:

This challenge is sponsored by Happy Little Stampers. Do play along for a chance to win a fabulous prize or to be chosen as a guest designer in the future!

I made two cards this time. It's been grey and rainy for the past week in Finland so photographing these was a pain... Please try to imagine the whites as pure whites and click the photos larger for closer look at the details!!

Card 1 Silver

For my first card I chose silver. I've die cut a Marianne Design snowflake and backed it with silver mirror card, it shows beautifully from the openings the die cut. I also die cut a circle from silver glitter card and heat embossed a CAS-ual Fridays sentiment. Lot's of silver in this card!

Card 2 Copper

My second card is a bit more busy but hopefully still CAS. I've die cut a Papertrey Ink snowflake and heat embossed it twice with sparkly copper powder. The Winnie and Walter sentiment is heat embossed on non-sparkly copper powder. The soft pink rectangle is die cut with a Penny Black die. I love copper and pink together!

This post is pretty short and sweet, sorry about that... But I'm glad to have you popping by and hope to see you again! Do visit my DT buddies for more metallic inspiration!

Time Out Challenges Reminder!

Hi friends!
I'm here to remind you of our current challenge at TIME OUT. We are Inspired by Words this time snd here's the quote:

We are extremely glad to once again be sponsored by STAMPlorations! Most of our DT is playing with STAMPlorations products -don't miss any of the cards and challenge details, click HERE!

In my card I've played with a new (to me) Hero Arts sentiment stamp/die set and CAS-ual Fridays snowflake stamps which were my absolutely favorite stamps last Christmas. I decided to create a Christmas card because... well, Happy Holidays! I'm so behind in my Christmas cards that I need to find a way to make a Christmas card with all my DT makes lol.

I've colored in the stamped wonderful-word with copics and then die cut it with the matching die. It's amazing how detailed this die cuts! The result looks like if you fussy cut it out -but totally clean of course! I then cut the same sentiment 4 times out of black card and adhered all the words together for creating a sturdy embellishment. I used gold Stickles for sparkle. The snowflakes are simply stamped -the word Christmas is heat embossed. I finished the card off with some red gems. Hope you like and thanks for popping by!

New Challenge at Less Is More!

Hi friends!
I'm here with my DT card for our new recipe challenge at Less is More:

Dimension is one of my favorite "spices" to add to clean and simple card making so I just love this recipe of ours! I'm happy to be back at Less Is More after a break for one whole month -I've moved house and my crafting supplies have been out of reach. Slowly getting back into the swing of things!

The month of October is sponsored by Uniko. Play along for a chance to win a fabulous prize... And for a chance to be called to guest design for us! Our guest designer this time is Claire and her card is full of great ideas for dimension -don't miss it!

My card is created with dies by Concord and 9th and Winnie and Walter. As soon as I saw this glorious leaf die from Concord and 9th I knew I had to have it. I love the large size and the detailed look! I cut the leaf from orange card and gave it ombre ink blending for more dimensional look. I also spashed some golden water color on it for sparkle. I've popped up the white pierced rectangle (cut with Winnie and Walter die) and the sentiment banner with fun foam for extra dimension. The sentiment is heat embossed with white powder for subtle extra dimension! Hope you like!

New Challenge at Inkspirational!

Hi friends!
For the next fortnight at Inkspirational we'd like you to use vellum in your projects! My sample is super simple and maybe the easiest way to use vellum ever but our DT has plenty of more complex inspiration for you in our challenge blog! Our guest designer this time is the talented Wei. Play along and one day you could be invited to guest design as well!

I've colored in a Winnie and Walter rose image with Copics. I had the pre-stamped and heat embossed Hero Arts sentiment on vellum ready in my stash... And I decided to use if tor this card. The gold looked a bit "lonely" so I added lots of pen detail to roses with two shades of metallic gel pens to bring more gold to the card. That's really all there is to this card... Super simple!

I hope to see you joining us!

Time Out Challenges Reminder!

HI friends!
I'm here to remind you of our current challenge at TIME OUT Challenges. You still have about one week to join us and we challenge you to be...

Our sponsor is the fabulous Winnie and Walter

Really love their products! This time I had fun using the Essentials Katharine Cutaways and a sentiment from Winter Wishes with Evelin T Designs. I'm trying to make Christmas cards as much as I can now... I'm behind!! I've used a wooden snowflake embellishment from my stash. No idea where it came from! I thought using two different reds would maybe make an elegant and yes, very colorful Christmas card. I quite like the end result although this was really simple to make! I've added dimension with fun foam and used just one rhinestone in the middle of the snowflake as a finishing touch. I hope you can see the dotted die cut details in the rectangles -love these dies!

Please head on over to our challenge blog for all the challenge details and lots more DT inspiration!

New Challenge at Inkspirational!

Hi friends!

We have a new challenge for you at Inkspirational:

This challenge is a very special one because we have 3 new design team members joining us! Please welcome

Absolutely wonderful to have these 3 talented ladies joining us! Welcome, welcome, welcome!

I recently moved and this was the first card I created in my new home. I don't have a dedicated crafting space in my new home but the space in front of my kitchen window is really lovely -I love the light and the view. I made something very simple -a one layer card with a Crafty Individuals stamp that totally says "comfort" to me -what can be more comforting than feeling close with a friend or partner! This is a Christmas card with a Finnish Christmas sentiment. I've created a Nordic night sky with ink and paints, masking the image and a snow bank.

I hope to see you joining us! Don't forget to check out the challenge blog for all the challenge details and lots more DT inspiration!

Guest Designing for STAMPlorations!

Hi friends!
It's time for another GD post for STAMPlorations. Have a look HERE for the post at STAMPlorations blog so you can admire the work of fellow GD's Gloria and Lee Ann! You also have a chance to win a $15 coupon if you leave us comments. :) Let's see what I created this time!

Card 1
Christmas Candles with Polychromos pencils

Products used:

I heat embossed this image with gold powder on Neenah kraft card. I colored the image with Polychromos pencils and added lots and lots of glitter on top (Stickles for the flowers and leaves and Wink of Stella for the candles). I think shiny, gallery cards are so suitable for the holidays! The Let it Snow-sentiment is die cut several times and the pieces are adhered to each other for extra dimension. Some paint splatters and golden sparkly sequins finish off this CAS card.

A good quality pencil sharpener is essential for coloring with colored pencils! You'll want your pencils to be super sharp to be able to fit the small areas in your heat embossing!

Close up of the sparkle of the card.

Card 2:
Blossom Sprays #1 with water color + pencils + Dove blender pen

Products used:

I begun coloring the flower with watercolor. I don't know if it was the card I was using or was I just not being patient enough... But I was not able to achieve vivid enough coloring (for my taste that is). After the watercoloring was dry I added some pencil shading on top. That didn't blend... Luckily I remember I had a Dove blender pen and it blended the pencil coloring to a  sort of water color look. I splattered lots of white and white pearl paint on top to add some more detail. I'm not in love how this turned out but oh well... The ink strip I masked and sponged is sort of a weird color, especially IRL. And although you might think it's impossible to splatter too much... It isn't! This card has way too much splatters LOL!  Better luck next time!

Detail photo of the watercoloring tat looked too soft to me!

Card 3:
Blossom Sprays #3 with Polychromos pencils

Products used:
Discontinued sentiment stamp

I white heat embossed the Blossoms Sprays twice on Neenah kraft card and colored them with my Polychromos pencils. That's really all there is to this card -after the coloring was ready (I'm not gonna lie,  I think it took 2 hours!) I just simply stamped the sentiment, adhered the colored in piece to a card base and finished the card with some sequins. I hope you are able to see the dot details I added to the lilies with gel pens! :)

Coloring in with pencils happens in layers. A finished  area might have  up to 6 layers of color (haven't really counted ever, sorry!). In the bottom you can see a petal with just one layer.
That's all from me today! I hope I could inspire you to color in something!

Time Out Challenges Reminder!

Hi friends!
I'm here to remind you of the gorgeous photo inspiration challenge we are having at TIME OUT Challenges, still running for about one week:

I think it's pretty clear how I was inspired! Love the fresh colors of these flower arrangements and the pumpkin "vases". :)

Poppystamps sponsors this challenge and I've used their wonderful stamp and die set Little Kindness in my card. The other dies come from MFT and Penny Black. Poppystamps designer Jeanne Jachna is joining us in this challenge, have a look at her gorgeous inspiration card HERE. Along with Jeanne, also Angie who was Top at Taking TIME OUT a couple of weeks ago, joins us in the fun. Her amazing blog is HERE.

I've heat embossed the Poppystams flowers and leaves with white powder on colored card and have then used distress inks for giving the colored card a bit livelier look. The MFT half circle is inked with DI:s as well and I've splattered white and gold paint on top. The sentiment is simply stamped. Some golden, sparkly sequins finish off the card.

I'd like to join:
Pixie's Snippets Playground #335 (the flowers, leaves and the vase are all die cut from left over card stock pieces)
Penny Black and More: Make it Feminine

Thanks for popping by and I hope to see you joining us!

New Challenge at Less is More!

Hi friends!
We have a new challenge for you at Less Is More! It's time for our ONE LAYER week and the theme for our one layers is florals. My favorite type of cards to make have flowers in them so I naturally loved this theme!

I decided to play with the Altenew Beautiful Day stamp set -this flower stamp set is a true classic if you ask me! My choice of kraft card was made due to the fact that I'm out of white! :) Do love how this turned out though so I'm glad I went the kraft route! I used Altenew inks for stamping the flowers. The sentiment (also by Altenew) is heat embossed with white powder. Some white paint splatters finish off this completely flat, one layer floral card!

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps sponsors our challenge in the month of September. Do play along for a chance to win a fabulous prize + to be called as a GD to your challenge! My DT friends along with our talented guest designer Julie Beech have lots of more inspiration for you in the challenge blog HERE. Have a look and then I hope to see you joining us!
