Inkspirational Challenges Reminder!

Hi friends!

I'm here with a quick post to remind you of our current mood board challenge at Inkspirational! The challenge is still running for about one week and there's lots of inspiration for you in the DT cards as well as in the player's gallery. Don't miss the beautiful cards or any of the challenge details, click HERE

I loved the ombre blue blanks in the photo on right in the top row and wanted to replicate that. I had some grey patterned paper that looked almost identical and I inked it with blue inks to make it match the moodboard. I then used a Marianne Design background stamp for adding texture that we see in the mood board photo planks too. I stamped the texture images with light brown distress ink first and with gold Delicata ink second. Love how that turned out!

I then cut some leaves from alcohol ink and watercolor panel scraps that I had. The dies are by Memory Box and Honey Bee. I loved the brown in the sand and pop of white in the waves in the moodboard and brought these colors to my card as well by using a washi tape in the left edge and heat embossing the sentiment with white on brown card.

Thank you for popping by and I hope to see you joining us!

Inkspirational Challenges Reminder!

Hi friends!
I'm here to remind you of our current challenge at Inkspirational, where we want you to make clean and simple cards! To help you out, here's what we'll be looking for with your Clean and Simple designs

✅ One main focal point
✅ Lots of OPEN space (doesn't 'have' to be white)
✅ Minimal Layers
✅ Minimal Embellishments

My card is sort of "grungy", layered CAS, but I do feel that gathering all my elements to the middle of the card creates only one "focal point"... And the color scheme is very monochrome which also tones it down. I've heat embossed the sentiment with gold powder. Sentiment stamp is by Simon Says Stamp (I've done little surgery, there should also be a Y'all in it but I cut it out), background stamp by Marianne Design and leaves are by Memory Box. The leaves are cut from a piece of water color paper that I "cleaned" a film of acetate with - I had done some water coloring with distress inks in fall colors and the left over of the inks is now on these leaves. :)

I hope to see you joining us!

New Challenge at Time Out!

Hi friends!

I'm here with my DT card for the new challenge at Time Out, where we are Inspired by Words this time. What we have for you is a little haiku!

   “Winter solitude-
in a world of one colour
the sound of the wind.”

 -Matsuo Basho-

Please head on over to our challenge blog for all the challenge details, prize information and lots of more DT inspiration. This time our inspiring GD is Fran Wing and you do not want to miss the elegant, beautiful card that she made!

I decided to make a one color birthday card with wintry feel... An almost white on white design with just a grey card base and sentiment on  grey card stock. Grey is a neutral so I'm thinking this can still count as a white on white/ one color card! At least almost lol!

The cute bird dies come from Lawn Fawn, the poinsettia circle is a Memory Box die. One of my absolutely favorite crafting materials is white glitter card stock so making this card made me very happy! A lot of white glitter card was used. :)

I'm joining:

Snippets Playground: Celebration theme
Happy 12th birthday to Snippets Playground under the leadership of Di!
Apart from the grey base card, everything else is cut from snippets. :)

Simon Says Monday Challenge: Sparkle and Shine

Beautiful Blossoms: Anything Floral Goes

Beautiful Blossoms: Happy Birthday Special challenge
Happy 1st birthday!

New Challenge at Time Out!

Hi friends!

It's time for a new challenge at Time Out and this time it's a beautiful fall and nature inspired photo inspiration challenge!

I was inspired by the fall colours, leaves and the row boat! I used my Altenew row boat die along with leaves from Memory box. I haven't used colored card stock but have inked all the parts (also the sentiment strip) with various Altenew or Distress inks to create my fall color palette. I love the softer look that inked die cuts have in comparison with when you die colored card... But of course you don't always have time for inking and then the colored card is very good too! :) Sentiment stamp is by Altenew as well.

The background is made with smooshing some Distress ink and then stamping on top with the same ink using a Marianne Design splatter stamp. I did splatter some gold and white ink too!

I hope to see you joining us! All the challenge details can be found HERE. Make sure to check out the beautiful inspiration from our guest designer Trina and from the whole team!

New Challenge at Time Out!

Hello friends!
I'm here with my DT card for the new challenge at Time Out where we want you to be inspired by the quote above! You could be inspired by the whole sentiment or just choose one word/some words.

I chose just coffee as my starting point and used a NBUS Three Room Studio stamp for creating a winter-themed card to send to a friend. The "wallpaper" is made with a Memory Box stencil and I used a woodgrain stamp for the floor after first masking the floor area and sponging it with lighter brown ink. The wallpaper background was supposed to be a lot more muted and soft but in my first version (that I ended up tossing) when using my brush for applying the ink I noticed the brush was dirty and my blue ink gave me an icky vomit green color... Not exactly what I was going for. Since I only have one brush I then had to use a blending tool, hence the strong color! The coloring of the main image is created with Copics.

Please head on over to our challenge blog for all the challenge details and more DT inspiration.

Time Out Challenges Reminder!

HI friends!
Our challenge at Time Out this time is to use 2 or more embellishments with a twist of making a one layer card for your embellishments to be attached on. :) Birch Press Designs sponsors the challenge with a $20 voucher for the winner and our DT had super fun playing with one of their dies, Stitched Maple Circle Frame Die

I've used the die with an inlaid die technique and then also die cut out 3 separate leaves for embellishments + added some rhinestones to the embellishment leaves as well. The separate leaves are also inked with an ombre look. I love how this turned out! The sentiment is by Verve Stamps if I remember right.

Please have a look for our challenge blog for more inspiration from our DT members and talented guest designer Andrea! Thanks for popping by and happy crafting!

New Challenge at Less Is More!

Hi friends!

The final Less Is More Challenge for the month of July is a fun one:

You could use paper piercing, eyelets, sewing, brads, piercing dies... Many fun ways to play along!

I went with piercing dies and decided to make some more Christmas cards for my stash. I've done about 50% of all the Christmas cards that I need this year so I'm doing pretty well! Last year was a disaster,  I think I got only 1/4 made of what I would have wanted to make... So this year I started already in January! :)

Card 1: Santa Claus (above)

My first card is made with goodies from my friend Milla... Only the sentiment stamp (Penny Black) is from my own stash! I've colored the hilarious MFT Santa with Copics and added lots of Stickles details. I love Stickles for Christmas cards although I don't use it often otherwise. The pierced circles are made with a Memory Box die. A couple of sequins finish off the card. I quite like gold with green, it's a festive color combo!

Card 2: Christmas Bunny (below)

The window die with beautiful faux stitches is by MFT... And from Milla again. ;) The Mama Elephant bunny (and yep, from Milla again...) is colored with Copics and I've added Stickles to her wings. The background is made with a stencil (Memory Box), some ink (already forgot what I used!) and an old make up brush. The white heat embossed sentiment is from a set by The Greeting Farm. I've played with clear, glittery nuvo drops too -they are hard to see in the photo but I've added them here and there in the inked background.

Our challenge blog is filled with fantastic DT cards for this challenge... And it's worth checking out the personal blogs of our DT members -there's often extra inspiration on offer there too! I look forward seeing what you'll create. Play along and you could win a fabulous prize from our July sponsor, Happy Little Stampers! Thanks for popping by and have a wonderful weekend.
