Guest Designing for STAMPlorations!

Hi friends!
It's time for another GD post for STAMPlorations. Have a look HERE for the post at STAMPlorations blog so you can admire the work of fellow GD's Gloria and Lee Ann! You also have a chance to win a $15 coupon if you leave us comments. :) Let's see what I created this time!

Card 1
Christmas Candles with Polychromos pencils

Products used:

I heat embossed this image with gold powder on Neenah kraft card. I colored the image with Polychromos pencils and added lots and lots of glitter on top (Stickles for the flowers and leaves and Wink of Stella for the candles). I think shiny, gallery cards are so suitable for the holidays! The Let it Snow-sentiment is die cut several times and the pieces are adhered to each other for extra dimension. Some paint splatters and golden sparkly sequins finish off this CAS card.

A good quality pencil sharpener is essential for coloring with colored pencils! You'll want your pencils to be super sharp to be able to fit the small areas in your heat embossing!

Close up of the sparkle of the card.

Card 2:
Blossom Sprays #1 with water color + pencils + Dove blender pen

Products used:

I begun coloring the flower with watercolor. I don't know if it was the card I was using or was I just not being patient enough... But I was not able to achieve vivid enough coloring (for my taste that is). After the watercoloring was dry I added some pencil shading on top. That didn't blend... Luckily I remember I had a Dove blender pen and it blended the pencil coloring to a  sort of water color look. I splattered lots of white and white pearl paint on top to add some more detail. I'm not in love how this turned out but oh well... The ink strip I masked and sponged is sort of a weird color, especially IRL. And although you might think it's impossible to splatter too much... It isn't! This card has way too much splatters LOL!  Better luck next time!

Detail photo of the watercoloring tat looked too soft to me!

Card 3:
Blossom Sprays #3 with Polychromos pencils

Products used:
Discontinued sentiment stamp

I white heat embossed the Blossoms Sprays twice on Neenah kraft card and colored them with my Polychromos pencils. That's really all there is to this card -after the coloring was ready (I'm not gonna lie,  I think it took 2 hours!) I just simply stamped the sentiment, adhered the colored in piece to a card base and finished the card with some sequins. I hope you are able to see the dot details I added to the lilies with gel pens! :)

Coloring in with pencils happens in layers. A finished  area might have  up to 6 layers of color (haven't really counted ever, sorry!). In the bottom you can see a petal with just one layer.
That's all from me today! I hope I could inspire you to color in something!

Time Out Challenges Reminder!

Hi friends!
I'm here to remind you of the gorgeous photo inspiration challenge we are having at TIME OUT Challenges, still running for about one week:

I think it's pretty clear how I was inspired! Love the fresh colors of these flower arrangements and the pumpkin "vases". :)

Poppystamps sponsors this challenge and I've used their wonderful stamp and die set Little Kindness in my card. The other dies come from MFT and Penny Black. Poppystamps designer Jeanne Jachna is joining us in this challenge, have a look at her gorgeous inspiration card HERE. Along with Jeanne, also Angie who was Top at Taking TIME OUT a couple of weeks ago, joins us in the fun. Her amazing blog is HERE.

I've heat embossed the Poppystams flowers and leaves with white powder on colored card and have then used distress inks for giving the colored card a bit livelier look. The MFT half circle is inked with DI:s as well and I've splattered white and gold paint on top. The sentiment is simply stamped. Some golden, sparkly sequins finish off the card.

I'd like to join:
Pixie's Snippets Playground #335 (the flowers, leaves and the vase are all die cut from left over card stock pieces)
Penny Black and More: Make it Feminine

Thanks for popping by and I hope to see you joining us!

New Challenge at Less is More!

Hi friends!
We have a new challenge for you at Less Is More! It's time for our ONE LAYER week and the theme for our one layers is florals. My favorite type of cards to make have flowers in them so I naturally loved this theme!

I decided to play with the Altenew Beautiful Day stamp set -this flower stamp set is a true classic if you ask me! My choice of kraft card was made due to the fact that I'm out of white! :) Do love how this turned out though so I'm glad I went the kraft route! I used Altenew inks for stamping the flowers. The sentiment (also by Altenew) is heat embossed with white powder. Some white paint splatters finish off this completely flat, one layer floral card!

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps sponsors our challenge in the month of September. Do play along for a chance to win a fabulous prize + to be called as a GD to your challenge! My DT friends along with our talented guest designer Julie Beech have lots of more inspiration for you in the challenge blog HERE. Have a look and then I hope to see you joining us!

I'd like to join:
(I'm inspired by the pink, green and white in the flowers in the picture)

The Flower challenge: Anything Goes

CAS on Friday: Flowers

Penny Black and More: Make it Feminine
Pink flowers... Do I need to say more? :)

Guest Designing for STAMPlorations!

Hi friends!

It's time for another Guest Designer post for STAMPlorations with lots of coloring inspiration! Have a look at the main inspiration post in the STAMPlorations blog HERE so you can enjoy of the art of my fellow guest designers too! Don't forget to comment for a chance to win a $15 coupon to STAMPlorations store. This time all my cards have been colored with the same medium, my trusty old Copics. All cards have got their share of paint splatters too! :) Let's have a look!

Card 1 Radiant Roses

Products used:
Radiant Roses stamp set
Pocket Blooms stamp set for the sentiment

I have stamped the Radiant Roses image three times in different angles to create a floral border. Then I've colored in the flowers with Copic markers (have a look at the detail photo for the color combos) and splattered white, black and gold paint on top. The sentiment is white heat embossed on black card. A very simple card but I do love to leave white space to my cards!

Card 2 Bloomtangled Cover Plate

Products used:
Bloomtangled #1 Cover Plate Die
Big Greetings stamp set  for the sentiment

I've cut the cover plate from white marker card and colored it in with Copics for an ombre look. Creating an ombre from light yellows to light greens is pretty easy, you don't need to blend much to make this work. Have a look at the Copic combos I used from the detail photo! To make the ombre a bit more blurred I ended up splattering white paint on top and I love the way it brought a lot of life to the coloring. The sentiment is white heat embossed on vellum. The cover plate is attached to a white card base -I use Stick It for cover plates like this one, it makes the gluing so much easier!

Card 3 Let It Snow

Products Used:
Let It Snow Phrase Die
Christmas Icons: Christmas Tree #1 Die

Sometimes it's fun to put the stamping tools away and create a card only with dies! From the detail photo you can see how the coloring process begun like. I've done very basic Copic blending with just 3 shades for both dies. The sentiment is also covered with clear Stickles and the tree got some paint splatters on top. :) In this card I also used a strips of patterned paper and gold glitter card  I had handy on my desk!

So, here were the three cards for the first STAMPlorations GD post for September! Do you have a favorite? Thanks for popping by and don't forget to comment, I love reading your comments and from this post there's a chance to win too!

New Challenge at Inkspirational!

Hi friends!
We have a new, fun challenge for you at Inkspirational, where we challenge you to use  doily (real one, die cut, stamped... Any doily will do!) I went with a die cut doily: I used three of them to create a white on white background for the stamped and die cut PTI flowers (colored with Copics and white gel pen). The sentiment is a Finnish birthday sentiment. Sorry for this super short post, but it's already 2 days late (I thought I had this scheduled!). My DT friends and talented GD Toni have a lot more inspiration for you in the challenge blog!

Time Out Challenges Reminder!

Hi friends!
I'm here to remind you of our current Inspired by Words challenge at TIME OUT Challenges:

As always in our Inspired by Words challenges you can be inspired by the whole quote or just one word or some words. I was inspired by the words happy and sand -I chose sand colored card for my base, stamped Happy-word twice and also used card making techniques that make me happy: copic coloring, stenciling, paint splattering and adding sparkle! This is a super simple card and I can't decide if I like it or not but at least it was fun to create it!

This challenge is sponsored by Uniko -the winner will receive a stamp set of their choice from Uniko store.

Please have a look at all the design team inspiration in the challenge blog and then it's your turn to take TIME OUT and craft!

New Challenge at Less Is More!

Hi friends!

We have a wonderful new color challenge for you at Less Is More:

Unfortunately I had time to make only one card this time but I'm sure you'll find a lot more inspiration in my design team mates blogs! Click HERE for the challenge post with all the challenge details.

We are already in September which means we have a new monthly sponsor and this time it's CAS-ual Fridays Stamps. Play along for a chance to win a fabulous prize! Do note the 20% code for Less Is More players!

I decided to play with my Polychromos colored pencils to create ombre pink colored flowers (we allow ombre in this color challenge). I heat embossed a Clearly Besotted flower stamp on black card and spent a nice hour or so coloring in the cute flowers. I finished the coloring with a coat of Wink of Stella. The sentiment, simply stamped, is by Uniko, and the dies I've used come from Winnie and Walter. The rectangle has dotted details in the edge -the photo unfortunately didn't really catch the dots.

Thanks for popping by and I hope to see you playing along!
