Time Out Challenges Reminder!

Hi friends!

I'm here today to remind you of our challenge at Time Out, where we have a wonderful inspirational quote for you:

"There is truly not an occasion that is not improved by wearing something festive."

These are the instructions:

You can use the whole quote or parts of it to inspire your creation. For example, you can use the word "festive"; or "occasion"; or the words "wearing something festive", etc. You must use something in the quote as your inspiration. In your post, please tell us how the quote inspired you.

I'm pretty much inspired by the whole quote... A festive dress to wear on a special occasion day. :) The dress die is by Honey Bee Stamps, the sentiment stamp comes from Penny Black... The oval die is from a Marianne design set and the mini slimline die comes from Crealies. I have added extra shading to the dress with Copic markers.

There's plenty of design team inspiration -and also inspiration in the players gallery- along with all challenge details HERE. If you haven't played along yet, now is the perfect time! Thanks for popping by!

New Challenge at Inkspirational!

Hi friends!

I'm here with a quick post for Inkspirational, where our new challenge is "Santa". I had very fun creating this card with various dies and other products! The Merry die is by Sizzix/Tim Holtz and the Santa die comes from Simon Says Stamp. I created the post stamps with Marianne Design dies and patterned paper from Dear Santa paper pack from memory-place. I gave a vintage look to the background with some 49 and Market rub ons and finished my postage stamps by adding detail with Waffle Flower Crafts postage collage stamps. All and all this card needed lots of die cutting, glueing and fiddling with things but it was very fun!

I hope to see you joining us! Lots of more DT inspiration and all of the challenge details HERE

I'd like to join:
Lots and lots of paper scraps where used for die cutting the Santa, the stamps and the Merry-sentiment

Inkspirational Challenges Reminder!

Hi friends!
I'm here to remind you of our current challenge at Inkspirational, where we want you to make clean and simple cards! To help you out, here's what we'll be looking for with your Clean and Simple designs

✅ One main focal point
✅ Lots of OPEN space (doesn't 'have' to be white)
✅ Minimal Layers
✅ Minimal Embellishments

My card is sort of "grungy", layered CAS, but I do feel that gathering all my elements to the middle of the card creates only one "focal point"... And the color scheme is very monochrome which also tones it down. I've heat embossed the sentiment with gold powder. Sentiment stamp is by Simon Says Stamp (I've done little surgery, there should also be a Y'all in it but I cut it out), background stamp by Marianne Design and leaves are by Memory Box. The leaves are cut from a piece of water color paper that I "cleaned" a film of acetate with - I had done some water coloring with distress inks in fall colors and the left over of the inks is now on these leaves. :)

I hope to see you joining us!

New Challenge at Time Out!

Hi friends!

I'm here with my DT card for Time Out where we have a theme challenge for you for the next fortnight! The theme is "Seeing Stars".

Picket Fence Studios generously sponsors our challenge with a $25 coupon to our winner. Our winner also gets called to guest design for us in the future and this time our talented GD is Simeen! You can check out Simeen's fun star shaker card in Instagram HERE

I realized I didn't have much star stamps or dies that would have inspired me! I found some star patterned paper and wanted to play with that instead. I decided to die cut letters from the paper to use the star theme in a very subtle and less obvious way. In addition to the stars, the paper had a pattern that reminded me of honeycomb pattern and there I got the idea to make my card Bee-themed. So stars and bees! :) The bee stamp comes from Funky Fossil designs and the letter dies are from Marianne Design.

Thank you for popping by and I hope to see you joining us at Time Out Challenges!

New Post at Inkspirational!

Hi friends!
We have a beautiful pastel colored moodboard for you at Inkspirational for the next two weeks. Make sure to check out all the DT inspiration and challenge details HERE and then play along!

I decided to work with the peonies of the first photo and also the "frilly edge" of the cake plate in the second photo. My background stamping is also inspired by the pattern in the first photo -I didn't have any swirl stamps to play with so I chose something else but I did want to make a subtle background like in the photo!

The peony stamp is by Newton's Nook. "Frilly edge" die by Marianne design. Sentiment is by Spellbinders and background stamp is by the Ton. I used white pearl embossing powder for the background, love the look! It's beautifully shiny and shimmery IRL. The peonies are colored with Altenew Woodless coloring pencils.

I hope to see you joining us!

Inkspirational Challenges Reminder!

Hi friends!

I'm here with a fun summery card for Inkspirational where our current challenge is "Seasonal"!

Christmas/Holiday would have ben the obvious season to choose... But I wanted to play with a Marianne Design kit that I had recently purchased so my season is summer! :) These are older stamps and dies but new to me. I absolutely love the flip flops! The paper I used is a freebie from Dreamflare Studios (free with purchase). I've added extra dimension and detail to the background by dry embossing it with a Spellbinders folder that creates a fabric like texture.

This project came together very fast. The frame die fits the stamped image perfectly and the other die cuts easily found their places as embellishments... A nice and quick card!

I look forward seeing what you'll create for our challenge! Lots of DT inspiration -and an inspiring gallery- in the challenge blog! xx

New Challenge at Time Out!

Hi friends!

It's time for a new challenge at Time Out and this time it's a beautiful fall and nature inspired photo inspiration challenge!

I was inspired by the fall colours, leaves and the row boat! I used my Altenew row boat die along with leaves from Memory box. I haven't used colored card stock but have inked all the parts (also the sentiment strip) with various Altenew or Distress inks to create my fall color palette. I love the softer look that inked die cuts have in comparison with when you die colored card... But of course you don't always have time for inking and then the colored card is very good too! :) Sentiment stamp is by Altenew as well.

The background is made with smooshing some Distress ink and then stamping on top with the same ink using a Marianne Design splatter stamp. I did splatter some gold and white ink too!

I hope to see you joining us! All the challenge details can be found HERE. Make sure to check out the beautiful inspiration from our guest designer Trina and from the whole team!

Slimline card with Butterflies for Challenges

Hi friends!
I'm here again with a card for challenges, yay! This one is inspired by February Stay Crafty Challenge With a Blog Named Hero  where the theme is "Animal Crackers". Butterflies are part of the animal kingdom for sure and it soon being spring and all... Using butterflies seemed like the way to go!

It had been a while that I had played with my Hero Arts Butterfly Pair stamp and die set. Making this card made me remember how much I love the possibilities of this stamp and die combo! I've combined them with Looking Glass Fine Arts Frame and leaves from Looking Glass Bird on a Branch. Sentiment is from HA set Friendship Blooms. Slimline dies are by Marianne Design. I've used Copics for coloring the images and branches. I simply LOVE how the butterflies pop out from the frame! You can see the dimension more clearly in the second photo.

New Challenge at Inkspirational!

Hi friends!
I'm here sharing my DT card for Inkspirational where we for the next fortnight are inspired by this amazing moodboard:

You could use al photos or just one photo/ some photos as your starting point. In our challenge blog HERE you'll find lots of more DT inspiration and all the challenge details!

I went with the color palette of brown, cream and reds and chose hearts as my motives. The big die cut hears are made with a Simon Says stamp die, sentiments also by SSS. Small dies are Winnie and Walter and the slimline die is by Marianne Design. I apologize for the awful colors of this photo, I assure you it's a cute card IRL... Lighting situation of winter Finland where not working for my advance in this one!!

Thank you for popping by and I hope to see you joining us!

New Challenge at Time Out!

Hi friends!
I'm here with my DT card for our new challenge at Time Out where we are Inspired by Words:

I obviously went with flowers in the garden. :) I used Altenew Craft Your Life Project Kit: Seasonal Blooms (stencil and die from the kit) in creating my card. I've stenciled the image with the three stencils that come in the set, then copic colored them, and then added pencil details. This was a pretty long project but I do like the end result! The background is blue card stock stenciled with a Marianne Design stencil -I think the stencil is supposed to create an ocean but I tried to create a cloudy sky with it. :) Sentiment is from the same Altenew set.

Make sure to head on over to out challenge blog for more DT inspiration and all the challenge and prize details. Our guest designer this time is Nancy with a beautiful card with several layers -don't miss it or any of the fun!

I'm in the DT of AAA Birthday Challenge, Yay!

Hi friends!
This is my first post as a DT member of AAA Birthday Challenge, woot woot! This challenge is a monthly challenge with a varying theme for making birthday cards. In the month of January the theme is A Stencil Background.

Play along for a chance to be called to guest design for us in a future challenge! This time our GD is the very talented Melanie. All the challenge details of how to play along HERE. Lots of DT inspiration too!!

I used two stencils in my card. The background stencil I used for the tone on tone look on the pink card is by Marianne Design. Then, after heat embossing the Altenew flower, I used a matching Altenew stencil for adding white pigment ink to the flower for making it pop even more. I quite like how this turned out! The sentiment stamps are by Simon Says Stamp. Some paint splatters and sequins finish off this card! This is a large, about 5 x 7 card.

Hope you like and thanks for popping by! Happy birthday card crafting!

New Challenge at Inkspirational!

Hi friends!

I'm here with my DT card for the new challenge at Inkspirational where we are inspired by this fun photo:

I chose the black and white floor, also the squares on it... And then "white" flowers with touches of color from the balloons. The background card I used is a recycled menu from a wedding I attended some years back -it had this fun stripy backside and I couldn't help myself, I had to take it with me from the wedding! I think I stole my date's menu too. :) I knew there would come a time I could use it in my card making and here we are with the slimline cards being trendy and this was the perfect size! :)

The flower is by Concord and 9th and I've water colored it. The sentiment, simply stamped, is by Colorado Craft Company. It's really jumbo sized -perfect for the slightly wider size of the slimline if you ask me! Also I find some of my jumbo sized sequins work for slimlines but not so well for regular a2 card bases -happy to get some use out of them as well. :)

Please head on over to our challenge blog for all the challenge details and lots of more DT inspiration!

New Challenge at Inkspirational!

Hi friends!

I'm here with my DT card for the new challenge at Inkspirational:

I decided to try something I hadn't tried before, "letter substitution" inspired by Day 10 lesson at the Spring Card Camp 2 at Online Card Classes that I have been taking. Don't know if this counts as funny... But it tries to be a bit funny at least! :) The colors of my card come form the current MFT color challenge.  I'm using their super duper cute gnome in my card. I've colored him with Copics and added some dots with white gel pen. Pretty unusual color combo for me but it's growing on me! My blue is a bit darker than in the challenge colors but I'm hoping to get away with it lol! Thanks for popping by and I hope to see you joining us at Inkspirational

Before I go I want to show you my take 1 on this card... After realizing that substituting the letter o with my image basically makes everyone read hell + gnome I thought I better re-do the card lol... But what can you say... Mistakes are made for learning! :)

New Challenge at Inkspirational!

Hi friends!
We have a new challenge, a fun photo inspiration at Inkspirational

I was inspired by a lot in the photo: The clouds, the love word (I also tried to incorporate the patterned look of the letters in the photo) and also the overall color scheme comes from the inspiration. The Ellen Hutson flower image is colored with Copics and gel pens. The background is stenciled with white pigment ink. I did need to add quite many layers to get it to show! I think my white ink might be drying out...  The die cut letters and the stencil are both by Marianne design, the background stamp I used for the pattern in the letters is super old, maybe by Prima, can't be sure! The rectangle die is by STAMPlorations. Hope you like and I look forward seeing you play along!

Time Out Challenges Reminder!

Hi friends!
I'm here with my DT card for the current challenge at Time Out were we are inspired by this fabulous photo:

I was inspired by the overall colors of the photo, the stripes in the plate and the big love- word.

Our sponsor in this challenge is Funky Fossil Designs and I had fun playing with two of their awesome products:

Our winner will receive a £15 gift certificate to Funky Fossil Designs

My card was easy to make but it did take some hours. I first stamped the flower image and cut a mask for it and masked it. The shape is pretty intricate so this took some time! :) I then stenciled the mandala design on top with two tones of red DI:s and then removed the mask and stencil. Time for Copic coloring... and after that was done, some splatters and putting the card together, also adding the die cut love-word. My opinion on the card varies -one moment I think it's fab, other moment I think it's messy... But at least it was fun and relaxing to make lol!

I hope to see you joining us at Time Out

Guest Designing at Penny Black Saturday Challenge!

Sorry everyone, this post is a couple of hours late from when the challenge went live... I need a new head lol! :)

Anyway friends: Here's my first GD card for the January challenge at Penny Black Saturday challenge blog. This challenge is an 'Anything Penny Black Goes' with a monthly optional twist and this time the twist is 'Something New'. I have used a new to me Penny Black flower stamp so I have gone with the twist! I've watercolored the stamped flower image. The background is made with inking through a Marianne Design stencil on a faux watercolor designer paper -I love all the hues of yellow and orange I received with stenciling on this paper that had an ombre look already to begin with! I felt the card needed some black accents, hence the patterned paper and sentiment strip. Hope you like!

Thank you Helen and all the DT members at Penny Black Saturday Challenge for the opportunity to guest design for you!

Time Out Challenges Reminder!

HI friends!
I'm here with my reminder card for the current challenge at Time Out where we challenge you to be:

This challenge is sponsored by Newton's Nook and I'm using their fabulous Peony Blooms stamps and dies in my card.

I've colored the peonies with Copics, die cut them and formed the card with the help of Marianne Design square dies. I just love these dies, the stitch is super detailed and I love how it's on both sides of the die cut edge! The sentiment, heat embossed with white powder, is by Catherine Pooler.

Please head on over to our challenge blog for all the challenge details and more DT inspiration! This time the talented Shawna is our guest designer -play along and you could be called to guest design too! Thanks for popping by and happy crafting.

Two Cards for Challenges... Including Twofer Challenge! :)

HI friends!
I'm enjoying of a rare free week and have been making future DT cards... And then realized I would actually have time to create something for current challenges too. :) Twofer is one of my favorites because of it's challengeness (just invented a word I think lol) but I never find time to enter... And here I am today with two cards for the current Twofer #18 Garden

Let's have a look at both of my cards individually.

Card 1 Thank You

Also for:

Penny Black And More: Summer Colors (my 2nd entry)
Stamping Sensations: The Earth Laughs in Flowers (my 2nd entry)

I couldn't resist making another go with selective Copic coloring of my new Catherine Pooler Cottage Garden stamp... I used this also yesterday in my post for Time Out HERE. I've also used the same double-stitched square Marianne Design die than yesterday but the look of the card is very different I think since I used white instead of kraft this time. The sentiment is by Altenew.

Card 2 Thinking of You/Encouragement

Also for:

In this card I heat embossed the Cottage Garden stamp with white powder on black card. The Winnie and Walter hugs-die cur is heat embossed twice with gold powder -I must say I love the way this looks IRL!

Thanks for popping by friends and I hope you like these cards I created! I had such relaxing time creating cards just for fun and I even have time for more of this luxury tonight, yay! :)

Have a super weekend and thanks for popping by. xxx

All the challenge details and inspiration from our fabulous GD Claire and our design team members HERE. We are thrilled to have Catherine Pooler sponsoring us with a $25 coupon to our winner!

In my card I used an amazing CP background stamp called Cottage Garden. I've stamped it on kraft card with black memento ink and partially colored it with Copics. I die cut a stitched square (Marianne Design) and added a sentiment strip. Hope you like!
