HI friends!
It's February which means Birthday Celebrations at Less Is More! That's right, Less Is More celebrates it's 7th Anniversary, woot woot! We have 2 sponsors this month, one for each birthday challenge. Along with sponsor prizes there will be surprise prizes too so do play along for a change to win! All the details are in our challenge blog HERE. This current challenge is sponsored by Uniko and Uniko owner and designer Bev is joining us as guest designer. And guess what... In addition to that, previous LIM DT members are joining us too! So there's lots and lots and lots of inspiration in the challenge blog. Welcome back Chrissie, Esther, Jen and Sarah G!
Now let's get onto our theme, "Music", and my DT cards.
Card 1 You Rock
(above)
This simple card was made to encourage a friend facing challenging, exciting work stuff this week! I was inspired by both the colors and photo in the current Calling All Sistahs Encouragement challenge. The large Rock-word is by CASual Fridays and to maintain a lot of white space I chose a very small You-word from MFT. I added extra interest with markers and white gel pen and also did some stenciling to spice the card up! This is a masculine card (the recipient is masculine enough to take the floral word!) so no bling or sparkle or other embellies this time. I did splattering with blue perfect pearls mixed with water though so there is some moderate shine!
I'd also like to enter:
(all "rock stars" are to swoon over, the real big ones and the more "mortal" ones too!)
Card 2 Merry Christmas
(below)
In this card I used designer paper that has a Christmas carol sheet music and lyrics printed on it. I've used my favorite snowflake die (Joy crafts) and added score lines for extra interest. The sentiment is heat embossed with white. I think the layout is pretty much an old Lim sketch and also Nonni + square piece of card + Joycrafts snowflake is not a new idea either but oh well... You can repeat nice ideass, can't you?!? At least this time the snowflake is not in the middle of the square like before! :)
After taking the photo and looking at it from my laptop screen I started staring that something in the sheet music looks a bit off to me... Why is this melody written in such weird way... And then I took the card in my hand and the thing is I've glued the paper upside down!! So the lyrics and everything is upside down!!! I think I have to send this to someone who doesn't pay much attention to detail!!! This is extra hilarious because I'm a musician and read sheet music every day -now we know I can't do it when I don't get paid! ;)
With this card I'd like to join:
(snowflakes are pretty chilled, aren't they!)
Thanks for popping by and I hope to see you playing along at Less Is More!
Two absolutely beautiful cards. I'm going to have to play along with this for sure with all the music loving boys I have in my house. Especially love the second card with the music paper.
ReplyDeleteTwo stunning cards Nonni, I love the rustic feel to your second one - so charming and I certainly wouldn't have noticed the upside down music scale!! The pretty snowflake you've added makes a perfect Christmas card. The first card is super eye-catching - rock chic and those awesome blue colours. 2 great examples for inspiration! Have a great week x
ReplyDeleteFAB and very different makes for LIM's 7th Birthday

Stunning cards. I adore the splatter background and what a clever take on the LIM...might be able to play along too now I can see this take! These splatters and colours fit so well with our challenge at Calling All Sistahs and I am over the moon you joined us-so good to see you here x
ReplyDeleteHi Nonni! Love your beautiful CAS design. That is such a gorgeous white snowflake and looks stunning against the kraft cardstock. Thank you for playing along with us at AAACards. Also Happy celebrations for LIM's 7th Birthday.

These are both gorgeous, Nonni! I love the muted colours and elegant layout of your Christmas card (regardless of which way up the music is!) and your first card looks fab with the subtle splatters and chevron stencilling. Great inspiration x
ReplyDeleteI love both of these wonderful cards. And, cracking up about your upside down music. I'm sure most will not notice! Thanks so much for playing along at CASology this week.
ReplyDeleteTwo gorgeous cards, Nonni ! And so much laugh with your second one while reading about the music sheet ! It sometimes occurs to me but with the card base ! I'm totally in love with your first card, your splatters and chevrons background make such a beautiful background for your pretty "rock" word ! Love also your second "Nonni's design" card. So beautiful on the kraft with the white snowflake and the white sentiment. Love them both ! Have a great weekend and a fabulous week. Hugs xx
ReplyDeleteUskottava rockkari-kortti sinisenä - eipä olisi tullut ensiksi mieleen :) Toinenkin kortti hieno lumihiutale koristeella.
ReplyDeleteLove your cards Nonni! And your story about the second one made me giggle! Thanks for playing along with us at AAA Cards!
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely, Nonni! So different and yet both eye catching and classy. That "rock" sentiment is awesome! Loving the soft blue colours too. And your second card is a gorgeous design with the offset focal point and calm neutrals. Love it! Have a great week x
ReplyDeleteYes snowflakes are definitely chilly! Love the contrast of the white and kraft. Thanks for joining in with the AAA Cards chilled challenge.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards Nonni :-) I love the first card with the splattered background and bold word, simply stunning and the music one is gorgeous! love them both :-)

These are two gorgeous cards. The top one is fun, slightly hippyish with a lovely colour. The second is elegant and peaceful - cas collage I'd call it.
ReplyDeleteFabulous cards Nonni! Love the movement and arty look on the first card with those beautiful flowery letters. Oh I shouldn't, but I did laugh about your upside down music on the second card - we've all done stuff like that. I really adore that card, and who cares if Nonni + square card + joycrafts snowflake has been done before - it is a winning combo so it is fantastic to see it again. xx
ReplyDeleteHello Nonni!! I love your cards. You did a great job on them. Thank you for playing along with CASology this week.
ReplyDeleteYour first card is so creative. Great idea. Your second is beautifully elegant!
ReplyDeleteTwo fabulous cards. I love the Kraft card it is so elegant.

Gorgeous cool blue hues, Nonni ... deliciously graphic ... LOVE that crisp white snowflake against the sheet music and kraft ... such a fun upside down story! Hugs, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteYour first card is really masculine, I dont think the flowers add anything feminine at all because of the clean design, color choices and splatter-ish background. Your Christmas card is lovely, I do have a soft spot for Kraft cards...
ReplyDeleteBoth beautiful cards, Nonni. Love your creativity with your first card. It totally rocks and the perfect encouragement card. And I’m a huge fan of Kraft cards, so love the bold white snowflake against the upside down music notes. I wouldn’t have noticed had you not mentioned anything. 😂 Love these. Have a good day! xx
ReplyDeleteAwesome cards for the challenge, Nonni, and both so different too. Love the blue tones of the first with that fab floral 'rock' and the layered up stencilling and splatters works brilliantly. And the kraft and white is so stylish and pretty. I can see why you love that snowflake, and I personally love seeing your designs using it with a backing panel, even when it's upside down ;) xx
ReplyDeleteSQUEAL!! Such an AWESOME Cards!! I LOVE the way you used the Colors and the Design on your first card!! SO FUN!! THANKS SO MUCH for playing along with the Calling All Sistahs Challenge and I hope you'll join us again!! Have a FABULOUS WEEK!! =)
