Hi friends!
We have a new challenge for you at Less Is More! We continue with our birthday festivities and have some of our alumni DT members creating with us and we also have prizes for you to win... Don't miss any of the fun, the amazing amount of inspiration and prize details, click HERE. Our challenge topic is a fun, but possibly a challenging one:
Dry embossing is something that is maybe not easy to incorporate to CAS designs but that's why we love challenges... They challenge us! :) Let's see what I came up with.
Card 1 Feathers (above)
I've used dry embossing in two ways here:
*I've dry embossed the whole background using a very subtle embossing folder, something that's very suitable for CAS backgrounds.
*The feathers are cut from previously dry embossed card. The feather die was a freebie with a crafting magazine some years ago and I still use it -it actually does some embossing in itself too!
A very simple layout with these feathers + a bit of wash tape and sequins to embellish the card. The Finnish sentiment means "for you". It's a rubber stamp and just impossible to stamp straight, I tell you!!!! I start to think the whole sentiment is somehow "crooked" on the rubber itself! I think this was the first and last time this stamp came out to play...
With this card I'd like to play along at:
Card 2 Flowers (below)
In the detail photo you can see how I've used dry embossing here -just on 1/3 of the card making sure there's lots of white space left. This design is quite detailed but I'm hoping to get away with it, to me it is CAS enough! :) The stamped, Copic colored and die cut flowers come from Poppy Stamps and my currently favorite decorative edge die comes from Lil'Inker.
With this card I'd like to enter:
Stamping Sensations: Anything With Flowers (my 2nd entry)
Simply CAS and beautiful on both these cards Nonni. I love the elegant feathers in such dramatic colour combos and your all-over embossing is perfectly subtle and tones in brilliantly with the design. Another fantastic use of texture on your second card and equally elegant design. Have a fun weekend and thanks for a superb post. x

Woahhh! These are both so gorgeous, Nonni. Love how classy and stylish your first is, the black and gold with the subtle embossing is just heavenly. And your second design is gorgeous too, the embossed design looks great paired with the vertical curve. Hugs xx

They are some seriously gorgeous cards, that first one is amazing !!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing with us at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge x
No need to worry if these are CAS enough, Nonni. You’ve showcased dry embossing in a CAS design perfectly. Love how you incorporated embossing with dies and EFs in your fist card. I’m reading all these freebies from magazines... so jealous as we don’t have that option here. Your second card is beautiful and I love the curved design. Fabulous cards. xx
ReplyDeleteSimply gorgeous CAS design! Thank you for sharing it with us for our floral challenge at Stamping Sensations.

Two really super makes Nonni. That subtle embossing on your first card is gorgeous and the whole design just oozes class and elegance with the black gold and white theme. Your second card is lovely and feminine with those pretty die cuts and the wavy embossing is amazing. Sorry I'm late coming to see you - it is a bit chaotic here getting our house ready to sell so I've been super-busy xx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards Nonni, love all of that texture on the feathers, and your flower card is such a clever design, Cathy x
ReplyDeleteThe feather creation is so elegant with the shimmery colors and subtle embossed background. Your second card has a very beautiful and clever layout, the embossing is playing a major role on this card, and I’m no CAs expert but to me this is definitely a CAs design.
