New Challenge at Less Is More!

It's time for a colour challenge in our rota at Less Is More. This time the colors are:

I really loved this combo and had lots of ideas what to make... In the end I decided to use a card base I had die cut ready and simply add a white heat embossed Altenew flower. I used colored card to bring our color palette to life. For the sentiment I used Imperial Purple Versafine ink which is a lovely dark plum, a very good alternative to black and perfect for our colours this time!

New Challenge at Inkspirational!

I'm here with my DT card for our new challenge at Inkspirational. I have been taking a small break from Ink due to busy work situation but now I'm finally back, yay! :)

In our blog you'll find lots of inspiration from our design team! I'm very happy to let you know that my good friend and super talented card maker Milla is our guest designer for the month of June! Very happy to create cards to same challenges with Milla! 

I believe it's pretty obvious that I tried to mimic the look of the beautiful jumpsuit by stamping a colorful, sort of dotted background with a stamp by Marianne Design. I did want to bring something else to the card as well and decided to use my new Newton's Nook stamps and dies but to not to color the flowers in -I thought the background was already so busy that something more simple would do better. The sentiment is by Simon Says Stamp. Hope you like and thanks for popping by! I look forward seeing you at Ink!

For my card I colored the wonderful Mondo Sakura flower stamp by Ellen Hutson with Copics and gel pens. I was also inspired by the turqouise wall you see in the photo and used a Tim Holtz embossing folder I thought looked similar. I used some blue ink and sanding to make the embossing more distressed looking. I used a white heat embossed greeting on black for the sentiment and some clear sequins for embellishments. New Challenge at Less Is More!

We have a new challenge for you at Less Is More:

Both dry and heat embossing will work if you just remember to have less than one third of your card embossed!

Our May sponsor is CAS-ual Fridays Stamps and our DT has had a lot of fun playing with their products. In this card I used their Pretty Poisies stamp and die set.   I've heat embossed my images with white powder, die cut them, and sponged them with various Distress and Memento inks. I kept the rest of the card simple using a die cut shape for "mounting" the flower cluster and stamping my sentiment. I decided to go with baby pink card for my base for extra girlyness! :)

A couple of quick words about my card. :) I'm using stamps and dies by Hero Arts, simply colored with Copics, gel pens and wink of stella. I felt like adding some patterned paper to my card just for fun (have been making so super simple cards lately that felt like adding more "touches") and that's how this turned out. Now onto my super simple card!

I'm using martini glass stamps and dies by Paper Smooches and rectangle die by STAMPlorations. I've masked and sponged an ombre yellow circle to the card base and simply placed the stamped, colored and die cut images on top and stamped the sentiment directly to the base. I finished off the card with black enamel drops.

My inspiration was simply to have a play with the die and different colored scraps of card stock -I randomly filled in the die like playing with a puzzle. :) The hugs die cut didn't really pop from the busy base so I adhered a strip of black card behind it. The color palette turned out pretty masculine but actually I think this kind of geometric design could be good for a guy anyway! :)
