New Challenge at Less Is More!

Hi friends!

The final Less Is More Challenge for the month of July is a fun one:

You could use paper piercing, eyelets, sewing, brads, piercing dies... Many fun ways to play along!

I went with piercing dies and decided to make some more Christmas cards for my stash. I've done about 50% of all the Christmas cards that I need this year so I'm doing pretty well! Last year was a disaster,  I think I got only 1/4 made of what I would have wanted to make... So this year I started already in January! :)

Card 1: Santa Claus (above)

My first card is made with goodies from my friend Milla... Only the sentiment stamp (Penny Black) is from my own stash! I've colored the hilarious MFT Santa with Copics and added lots of Stickles details. I love Stickles for Christmas cards although I don't use it often otherwise. The pierced circles are made with a Memory Box die. A couple of sequins finish off the card. I quite like gold with green, it's a festive color combo!

Card 2: Christmas Bunny (below)

The window die with beautiful faux stitches is by MFT... And from Milla again. ;) The Mama Elephant bunny (and yep, from Milla again...) is colored with Copics and I've added Stickles to her wings. The background is made with a stencil (Memory Box), some ink (already forgot what I used!) and an old make up brush. The white heat embossed sentiment is from a set by The Greeting Farm. I've played with clear, glittery nuvo drops too -they are hard to see in the photo but I've added them here and there in the inked background.

Our challenge blog is filled with fantastic DT cards for this challenge... And it's worth checking out the personal blogs of our DT members -there's often extra inspiration on offer there too! I look forward seeing what you'll create. Play along and you could win a fabulous prize from our July sponsor, Happy Little Stampers! Thanks for popping by and have a wonderful weekend.

New Challenge at Inkspirational!

Hi friends!
I'm here to share my DT card for the new Inkspirational Challenge. We are being inspired by this fabulous photo:

If you click the photo larger you'll see there's a blue starfish on the shelf -that was my main inspiration point. I also used a line stamp (Prima) + woodgrain background paper, both inspired by the planks in the photo. The starfish stamp is by Stampers Anonymous and I bought it especially for this challenge (+ a couple of more DT cards that are coming up later). It's a new stamp style for me and I was a bit confused what to make with it at first but I do like this end result! I colored the images with Copics and added lots of dotted details with my favorite white gel pen. The sentiment (by Altenew) is heat embossed with white powder on black card. Clear sequins finish off this card. Oh and I should mention the lines are stamped with Delicata gold ink... They shine beautifully IRL!

I hope you'll now head on over to our challenge blog to find out what the rest of the DT made. Our guest designer this time is Jaydee and I've sen her card -it's amazing! Don't miss it. :)

New Challenge at Less is More

Hi friends!

We have a new challenge for you at Less Is More:

A fun but tricky one, isn't it!

Card 1: Hugs

My first DT card has a large sponged lotus flower (or something close to lotus!) which I sponged with memento desert sand ink and colored on top with Copics for a "no-line coloring"-look. I usually shy away from this technique but this image was so large that it was not very difficult to keep the lines and petal edges clean even though there isn't any defined outlines. My sentiment is a large hugs-die cut (from my friend Sandie, thanks hon!) which I absolutely love. I sponged it with some distress ink and also brushed the same ink on top of the flower. I think the larger size of the sentiment die worked pretty well with the large size of the flower. I added Wink of stella to the sentiment and couple of clear sequins to finish off the card. I also die cut the panel with a MFT border die for just a little bit of extra interest.

I'd like to enter my Hugs-card to

Stamping Sensations: anything with flowers (my 2nd entry)

Card 2: Thanks

My second card has a self-made white on white thanks-background which I created with die cut sentiments. I backed my white card white Stick-it adhesive before die cutting so creating the background didn't require much effort. It looks quite fun IRL, unfortunately the lighting conditions were a bit bad when I photographed this but I hope you get the idea anyway! The cute, stitched die cut flowers come from Lil' Inker and I've added wink of stella and clear sequins to them to get the card looking a bit more girly. The off-white card base is not so yellow as it looks in the photo... The lighting again. :(

Our challenge blog is filled with fantastic DT cards and lots of inspiration for this challenge. For me it was a challenge to not to get to play with my stamps but there is many alternatives like stencils, dies and even some store-bought fun toppers to play with... I look forward seeing what you'll create! Play along and you could win a fabulous prize from our July sponsor, Happy Little Stampers!

New Challenge at TIME OUT!

Click larger for details.

Hi friends!
I'm here with a DT card for our new challenge at TIME OUT Challenges where we are inspired by words:

'If you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely' Road Dahl

As always, our challenge runs for two weeks and we also have a guest designer, Toni, whose card for us totally makes me smile. Don't miss Toni's brilliant card, work by our DT or any challenge details, click HERE

I decided to concentrate on the sun-part of the quote and colored in W+9 flowers with sunny colors. The card is also really shiny -all the greenery is glittered up with Wink of Stella and I also added some clear, sparkly Nuvo Crystal drops. There's a couple of tiny rhinestones too and about 1 million white dots that I made with acrylic paint and paint brush. To be honest it all looks a bit crazy (like snow and raindrops at the same time...) but that's how it is this time. :) The stamped greeting is by Papertrey Ink. The background is very lightly inked with pale yellow DI and old make up brush. Hope you like and thanks for popping by!

I'd like to enter:
Stamping Sensations: anything with flowers
Stamp Ink Paper: Fabulous florals

New Challenge at Inkspirational!

Hi friends!
I'm slightly late with my DT card for the current Inkspirational Challenge but I hope you'll forgive me!

The next fortnight we are having fun with this sketch, chosen by our lovely Shauna:

Our guest designer is the wonderful Izzy whose creativity is often mind-blowing, don't miss any of her cards, follow her blog HERE!

I used Altenew Bamboo Roses- flower stamp, W+9-sentiment stamp and The Ton background stamp in creating my card. The flowers are colored in with Copics and the background stamp was stamped with golden Delicata ink. It looks quite smashing IRL! My crafting buddy Milla has been spending some days at my place and helped me in finding my mojo, it has been lost for weeks now... But I've truly enjoyed our Copic coloring sessions and playing with Milla's stamps! :)

Thanks for popping by and I hope to see you playing along.

I'm linking my card up to Altenew July Inspiration challenge. Love that red rose!

TIME OUT Challenges Reminder

Hi friends!
I'm one day late with my reminder card for the current TIME OUT Challenge, but better late than never! We are CASEing the fabulous Cornelia (see the cute birdie card above!). For all the challenge details and prize info, click HERE. We are sponsored by Happy Little Stampers

My card's focal point is Bamboo Roses- stamped and die cut flowers by Altenew. I've colored them in with Copics and attached them to a die cut panel. Both designer papers I used have "wooden finish", inspired by Cornelia's background stamp. Also my overall layout was inspired by Cornelia + I used a lot of green like she did.

Before joining us, do check our DT inspiration along with fab Guest Designer cards from Pooja from the TIME OUT Challenges blog

New Challenge at Less Is More!

Click the photo larger for details! :)

Hi friends!
I'm here with a quick post to share my DT card for the new Less Is More Challenge:

In other words -use anything but white card for your one layer card base!

This challenge runs for 2 weeks and is a joined challenge with AAA Cards. We are sponsored by Happy Little Stampers and Kylie from HLS is also joining us as a guest designer with a fab, pink card. Don't miss Kylie's card, all the challenge details and creations by the DT -click HERE

I've used cute new poodle stamps by Clearly Besotted + a MFT sentiment in my card. The poodles are white heat embossed and I also added color to their "accessories" with a purple Copic marker and Wink of Stella glitter pen. A super simple CAS card, no embellies or nothing! The photo was taken on a rather cloudy day and is a bit unfocused, sorry about that -it looks better when clicked larger. :)

Thanks for popping by.
