Hello friends!
We have a new challenge for the next fortnight at Less Is More. It's time for the one layer challenge in our rota and this time the one layer theme is "Cute". I hope to see you playing along -remember that one layer means one piece of cardstock folded in half, no additional layers are allowed! :) My DT buddies have plenty of inspiration for you in our challenge blog HERE. Don't miss any of the fun and a chance to win a prize from our monthly sponsor, Skull and Cross Buns!
Card 1 (above)
This is my first time using this cute Your Next Stamp beaver -I've had it for about a year already. I bought it for last year's Valentine's (in Finland it's typical to send cards to friends and family too, not just for lovers!) and thought this would be so cute for some of my girlfriends. :) I've watercolored the image with zigs and added sparkly details with Wink of Stella and glittery, clear Nuvo Drops (I wish I would not have added these, I liked the card more when without them). The sentiment is heat embossed with gold powder. I'm not comfortable with water color backgrounds yet so I masked the image and sponged the bg with blue distress ink.
With this card I'd like to join:
CAS on Friday: Love
Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: Add a sentiment
CASology: Glimmer
Penny Black and More: Something New (Never before used stamp!)
Card 2 (below)
For my second card I used another NBUS stamp, this time by Dylusions. Coloring with Zigs again (still haven't purchased that new black ink for my Copic markers...) and this time the bg is sponged through a brick stencil. Some clear drops finish off the card.
With this card I'd like to join:
Thanks for popping by! I hope to see you playing along!
Fab inspiration and LOVING your dachsie!

Super cute card, Noni. Love the stamp. Thank you for joining us at CAS on Friday. Luv, Wilma
ReplyDelete2 perfect examples Nonni and you know I just love that second one - those cute stripy jumpers are to die for and the little scene is exquisite. BUT your first one ... OMG what talent with your ziggys. That's a cute and perfectly coloured image. Super CAS, full of interest and definitely eye-catching. x
ReplyDeleteAdorable image on the first & beautiful colored! Thanks for sharing with us at CASology this week!
ReplyDeleteLove them both, so cute, thanks for joining us at MAWTT, xxxx
ReplyDeleteA whole lot of cuteness, Nonni! Both are beautifully coloured with Zigs... you may never want to return to your Copics with fabulous results like these. 😉 Your second card totally made me smile. I’ve never seen anything like them before and their outfits are just precious. Love them. Have a wonderful week. xx
ReplyDeleteJust perfect take on the cue! So very pretty! Thanks so much for sharing with us at CASology! Anna xo
ReplyDeleteEver so cute ... and those jewels do shine! So happy you could add some glimmer to the challenge at CASology this week.
ReplyDeleteBoth of your cards are fabulous! Gorgeous coloring on these fun images. Thanks for playing along with CASology this week!
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw your card, I thought he was a ground-hog (I'm originally from the land of Punxatawny Phil!). Whatever he is, he's adorable, and the sentiment works nicely for our theme this week! Thanks for playing along with us at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge!
ReplyDeleteBoth of these cards are great...but I have a special place in my heart for dogs!
ReplyDeleteIhanat ja kauniit kortit - sopivat hyvin ystävänpäivään.
ReplyDeleteKiva kun olet mukana Penny Black and more haasteessa;-))m
Wow! and I'll say 'wow' again! You colouring on these two cards is just delicious Nonni. You've achieved such perfect blending on them both. The beaver is adorable with those shiny gems, but the 'sausage dog' really made me smile as it looks like he wraps all around the back of the card. Brilliant! xx
ReplyDeleteHi Nonni
ReplyDeleteTerrific CAS twofer.
Thanks for joining in at MAWTT.
Best wishes.
Ang.
Your excavating beaver is such a little cutie, Nonni ... so beautifully coloured! Oh my, that dapper sausage dog ... he's brilliant ... fun, vibrant and so quirky ... fabulous! Hugs, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteThe doggie card I saw over at LIM blog too, it's so fun! The stamps set with this dog is on my wishlist too. So cool the way you added the front and back on opposite sides of the card. The diamond digger is so cute, nicely colored and the clear drops are so subtle so I don't think they're doing any harm.
ReplyDeleteTwo adorable cards Nonni!! Your zig colouring is awesome. That first image is so sweet ... it made me smile. :) xx
ReplyDeleteSuch talent with your ziggys, Nonni. Love that cute little beaver! And the subtle brick background looks great against those bright and cheery jumpers xx
ReplyDeletetwo very sweet cards! that beaver is adorable and cuter than the one on our canadian coins. so beautifully coloured too. thank you so much for playing along with us at the penny black and more challenge!

I love them both, Nonni ! I'm about to buy Zig brush pens but when I see your fabulous work with them on these cards, you totally convinced me to do it ! You achieved so beautiful shades with them, fabulous ! These two stamp sets are equally cute and fun ! Absolutely brillant ! Hugs xx
ReplyDeleteNonni the beaver is cute but the sausage dog is my absolute favourite - he is one cool, rather than hot, dog for sure!
