Guest Designing for STAMPlorations!

Hi friends!
It's time for another GD post for STAMPlorations. Have a look HERE for the post at STAMPlorations blog so you can admire the work of fellow GD's Gloria and Lee Ann! You also have a chance to win a $15 coupon if you leave us comments. :) Let's see what I created this time!

Card 1
Christmas Candles with Polychromos pencils

Products used:

I heat embossed this image with gold powder on Neenah kraft card. I colored the image with Polychromos pencils and added lots and lots of glitter on top (Stickles for the flowers and leaves and Wink of Stella for the candles). I think shiny, gallery cards are so suitable for the holidays! The Let it Snow-sentiment is die cut several times and the pieces are adhered to each other for extra dimension. Some paint splatters and golden sparkly sequins finish off this CAS card.

A good quality pencil sharpener is essential for coloring with colored pencils! You'll want your pencils to be super sharp to be able to fit the small areas in your heat embossing!

Close up of the sparkle of the card.

Card 2:
Blossom Sprays #1 with water color + pencils + Dove blender pen

Products used:

I begun coloring the flower with watercolor. I don't know if it was the card I was using or was I just not being patient enough... But I was not able to achieve vivid enough coloring (for my taste that is). After the watercoloring was dry I added some pencil shading on top. That didn't blend... Luckily I remember I had a Dove blender pen and it blended the pencil coloring to a  sort of water color look. I splattered lots of white and white pearl paint on top to add some more detail. I'm not in love how this turned out but oh well... The ink strip I masked and sponged is sort of a weird color, especially IRL. And although you might think it's impossible to splatter too much... It isn't! This card has way too much splatters LOL!  Better luck next time!

Detail photo of the watercoloring tat looked too soft to me!

Card 3:
Blossom Sprays #3 with Polychromos pencils

Products used:
Discontinued sentiment stamp

I white heat embossed the Blossoms Sprays twice on Neenah kraft card and colored them with my Polychromos pencils. That's really all there is to this card -after the coloring was ready (I'm not gonna lie,  I think it took 2 hours!) I just simply stamped the sentiment, adhered the colored in piece to a card base and finished the card with some sequins. I hope you are able to see the dot details I added to the lilies with gel pens! :)

Coloring in with pencils happens in layers. A finished  area might have  up to 6 layers of color (haven't really counted ever, sorry!). In the bottom you can see a petal with just one layer.
That's all from me today! I hope I could inspire you to color in something!

An inspiring post with impressive coloring results. I actually fancy the second card and don’t find it too softly colored. And the inked bottom area is a strike of genius to avoid the flower feeling hanging midair.

I love the look on the kraft background and I don’t agree with you on the second card. The splatter is just perfect. Lol

Your cards are stunning! The card with the lilies is my favorite. the white contrast against that kraft paper. But I also really love the embossed poinsettia and candle.
