Hi friends!
We have a new challenge for you at Less Is More:
A fun but tricky one, isn't it!
Card 1: Hugs
My first DT card has a large sponged lotus flower (or something close to lotus!) which I sponged with memento desert sand ink and colored on top with Copics for a "no-line coloring"-look. I usually shy away from this technique but this image was so large that it was not very difficult to keep the lines and petal edges clean even though there isn't any defined outlines. My sentiment is a large hugs-die cut (from my friend Sandie, thanks hon!) which I absolutely love. I sponged it with some distress ink and also brushed the same ink on top of the flower. I think the larger size of the sentiment die worked pretty well with the large size of the flower. I added Wink of stella to the sentiment and couple of clear sequins to finish off the card. I also die cut the panel with a MFT border die for just a little bit of extra interest.
I'd like to enter my Hugs-card to
Stamping Sensations: anything with flowers (my 2nd entry)
Card 2: Thanks
My second card has a self-made white on white thanks-background which I created with die cut sentiments. I backed my white card white Stick-it adhesive before die cutting so creating the background didn't require much effort. It looks quite fun IRL, unfortunately the lighting conditions were a bit bad when I photographed this but I hope you get the idea anyway! The cute, stitched die cut flowers come from Lil' Inker and I've added wink of stella and clear sequins to them to get the card looking a bit more girly. The off-white card base is not so yellow as it looks in the photo... The lighting again. :(
Our challenge blog is filled with fantastic DT cards and lots of inspiration for this challenge. For me it was a challenge to not to get to play with my stamps but there is many alternatives like stencils, dies and even some store-bought fun toppers to play with... I look forward seeing what you'll create! Play along and you could win a fabulous prize from our July sponsor, Happy Little Stampers!
These are beautiful Nonni. Hope you're okay.
ReplyDeleteLoving that bold bloom, Nonni. You card is so pretty in the mauve/purple tones. And your thanks background was a fab idea for this challenge, love those little yellow flowers, such a cute card xx
ReplyDeleteI love the stencilled lotus! It looks fabulous behind the deeper coloured die cut sentiment, really bold and eye catching. Your second card is gorgeously sunny and fresh in feel. Loving the embossed thanks background! Have a lovely weekend x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards, Nonni. I love adding shading to stencilled images. You did a fab job and finished it off perfectly with the large die cut sentiment. Love the white on white of your second card with a slight pop of colour. Have a great week. xx
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful cards. So elegant!
ReplyDeleteThese are both stunning Nonni. Really love the stencil on the first and the white on white on the second is so elegant.
ReplyDeleteTwo gorgeous cards Nonni ! Love your bold lotus and the technique you used to colour it : I have to try it ! You're right, this big hugs is really great ! I also love how you created the sentiment on your second card ! Really creative and original ! Thanks for inspiring each week ! Have a great weekend and a fabulous week ! xx
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely cards!! I LOVE the technique you used for the first card. That flower is GORGEOUS!! The second card is beautiful with the white panel. Great design on both.
ReplyDeleteI love how you combined the stencil and die and the colour is naturally perfect. That second card is CAS perfection with a touch of sunshine xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards! Love the pretty soft flower on your first card! And, the second card is just as lovely with the embossed background and bright yellow flowers!
ReplyDeleteThat purple bloom is wonderfully striking and bold, Nonni ... brilliant with the scale of the sentiment (and so fun that you used purple with a Sandie-sent die cut!). LOVE that white on white background with the tiny yellow flowers ... fresh, sweet and fabulous! Hugs, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteSwooning over your cards this week Nonni! The lotus card is so dramatic and eye-catching yet the techniques you used on it are wonderfully subtle. The blend of those two colours on the bloom is just spectacular. Then you impress us even more with your fantastic hand made thanks embossed panel. So clever! The sweet little flowers are the perfect embellishment on that one. xx
ReplyDeleteI like the depth of the colors of the lithe flower, it really brings life to this whole design. It's awesome! I also like your own made background on the second card As well as this simple flower style.
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are perfectly beautiful! Thanks for sharing with us at Stamping Sensations.
