Card for Challenges

Hi friends!

Ever since I saw the Spellbinders Regal Pair die and other products in the Regal product line... I was obsessed and had to have them! :) I love the antique ceramic dog statues like this and I even own a pair of Staffordshire dog figurines that I keep by my living room window. The Regal Lattice 3d embossing folder is stunning as well so of course that went to cart too... And I'm very happy with my purchases!

I used patterned papers from my stash that had a vintage feel and coherent color palette for making the background and the figurines. The shiny parts I cut from copper card stock and ended up heat embossing the sentiment with copper embossing powder as well.

If you are interested in how I created the look for the background, this is what I did:

After dry embossing the folder I took white pigment ink and carefully rubbed and swiped it on the raised areas. I let it dry overnight and on the next day I did the same but with shimmery gold ink. I finished the background with coppery gold paint splatters.

I'd like to join these challenges:

Just Us Girls: Embossing

613 Avenue Creates: Anything Goes
Allsorts Challenge: Anything Goes

NBUS Challenge: Challenge #84, all dies and the embossing folder are brand new to me!

Thank you for popping by and I hope you enjoy my vintage dog statues!

More Inspiration With March My Monthly Hero... Focus on the Milk Carton Die!

Hi friends!

I'm here with two more fun cards with the new March My Monthly Hero kits by Hero Arts. These cards are made with the Superhero version of the kit (larger kit with more products) but also highlight products available in the smaller My Monthly Hero kit. These kits are great value and sell out fast... So grab yours before it is too late!

Card 1
Stenciled and Die Cut Milk Carton - Our Friendship is Legen-Dairy

One of the very cool products of the Superhero kit is the milk carton stencil that you can cut out with matching dies and color it super realistic looking. I love the way this turned out using only two ink colors but bigger and smaller blending tools for color and intensity variation. I wanted to keep this card very clean and simple to make the stunning milk carton really pop... And I love the fun, sweet sentiments too!

With this card I'd like to join:
Just Add Ink Challenge: Stencils and Dies

Card 2
Die Cut Milk Carton - It's Your Birthday, Milk it!

This card is a bit less CAS with a very layered look, stenciled background ( I used a clear, glossy paste) and plenty of die cut details. The milk carton die is the same one that matches the stencil of the first card so you can get really different looks with just the die (My Monthly Hero kit) or die and stencil combo (My Monthly Superhero kit)

I'd love to hear which look you prefer -the detailed, stenciled look or the clean, crisp, die cut look!

With this card I'd like to join:

Thank you for popping by and I hope you liked my projects. xxx

March My Monthly Hero is Out!

Hi friends!

I'm excited to be creating with the brand new Hero Arts My  Monthly Kits in my post today! Click HERE for all the details on the My Monthly Subscriptions. These kits tend to sell out so make sure to grab yours fast this month! If I inspire you with my post, I'd love you to do your shopping through my links... It helps me a lot without any extra cost for you! Now let's have a look at this super cute (Legen-Dairy!!) kit and what I've made with it!

Card 1
Cretaed with My Monthly Hero kit

The stamp set in the My Monthly Hero kit  has very fun sentiments and I wanted to make them the focal point of my card. I used Hero Arts Neon Inks for all the colorful stamping. The stenciled background is created with white Hero Paste. My card design with the vellum is inspired by one of Hero Arts' artists, Channin Pelletier, who made a wonderful video in February using February's kit (watch it HERE)... Fingers crossed we'll get an inspiring video again this month and I'm pretty sure we do!!

With this card I'd like to join:
Word Power Challenge: Anything Goes
Simon Says Monday Challenge: Make Your own Background

Card 2

My second card uses the same fun stencil from the My Monthly Hero kit, but also the additional stamps and dies that you get if you purchase the the Superhero kit. I wanted to make this card very "milky" so I made a white on white background with paste again and kept the color scheme pretty restricted. Love how this turned out!

With this card I'd like to join:
Alphabet challenge: V is for volume (dimension)
Creative Artiste Challenge Blog: Anything Mixed Media Goes
Just Add Ink Challenge: Stencils and Dies

I'll be back tomorrow with more inspiration with the kits! Thank you for popping by and I hope you liked my projects. xxx
