New Challenge at Inkspirational!

Hi friends!
We have a new challenge for you at Inkspirational challenges: oldie but goodie, use a stamp from the days when you started crafting. I actually chose this challenge and can not wait to see what you'll create with your oldest, probably neglected stamps! I'm sure the old stamps become happy when they get inked! :)

When I begun card making I was obsessed with doilies. I loved using actual doilies for more layered cards and bought some doily stamps for my stash too. I didn't own a die cutting machine that time -otherwise I'm sure I'd also have doily dies in my stash! My DT card is made with a My Mind's Eye doily stamp set. It's not the oldest stamp set that I own but very close -I have actually recently used the very oldest one so I wanted to let this one a chance to come out and play. I do de-stash quite often by selling old stamps in a fb group to get more room (and money!) for new stash. Also one's style chances doesn't it... And you might not like some of your eldest ones so much as you used to. That's why I thought this challenge could be fun, to try to use those old stamps for something new and fresh! I tried to bring my doily stamp up to date by keeping the design very CAS and using STAMPlorations wonky stitches dies and Nuvo drops (almost invisible in the photo!) for accents.  Hope you like and thanks for popping by!

  1. oh how I remember you and the doilies!! I had a go at using a real one the other day with no success. I think this card is stunning, I like the colour. This cards says drama to me-not quite sure why, but it does-it has given me an idea for a one layer Xmas card.....can I CASE?

  2. I still enjoy a good doily, but that certainly does feel like a blast from the past! This is a great stamp and super bold! I like your clean design with the faux stitched panels. Thanks for a fun challenge!

  4. There's something so gorgeous about fresh yellow and crisp white, Nonni ... this is fantastic! Love the CAS-ness ... and those tiny drop of lemon around the edge of the doily! Hugs, Anita :)
