Hello friends!
One week goes by so quickly that it's again time to make CAS cards for Less Is More! This time our theme is "Geometric". There's many possibilities to go with it and our DT and talented guest designer Julie are showing you fantastic samples in the challenge blog HERE and in their personal blogs as well. Card 1 : Aurinkoa Päivääsi
Entering this card to following challenges:
My first card is a one layer with stamped flower image (Woodware) and hand-drawn border. I've colored the image with Copics. I left the vase unshaded and just shaded the flowers -I think this made them pop nicely when the vase is just "blocks of color". I love love love this stamp! I hadn't been coloring on this specific blending card for a while and it was acting up on me a bit... I used the good old "cover it all with Wink Of Stella"-trick to make the blending look flawless after I was all done with Copics. The shimmer really hides your small mistakes nicely... And the shimmer and shine look very pretty IRL! "Aurinkoa Päivääsi" is Finnish language and translates to something like "Sunshine to your day". This must be one of my personal favorites from the cards I've made lately, the stamp is so gorgeous and fun and fast to color in. Isn't it great when you make something that comes together fast and still has quite a lot of impact!
Card 2 Happy Birthday
I'm entering:
My second geometric card is made with a small circle stamp (stamped three times to form a short of triangle) and a Hero Arts sentiment die + stamp. I did the hidden die cut technique which is quite new to me but I'm already rather obsessed with it... Get ready seeing a lot more of this technique in the future! I die cut the sentiment 5 times so it's very sturdy. The layers are from black card, that helped to get the sentiment pop from the card more.
I really enjoyed making my geometric cards and now I can't wait to see what you will create! Happy crafting!
Nonni, I love your first card. Such a great stamp and I love the way you added just come colour. I often pick up these large Woodware stamps but don't know how I would use them but this is awesome, I'll think again next time I see one :) And the circle designs with your popped up die looks really dramatic. Two great cards. Hugs xx

ReplyDeleteFabulous cards Nonni ! I LOVE this modern look of the wonderful vase of flowers and it contrats so well with the flowers coloured in grey ! Really amazing card ! And this triangle of crossed circles is so creative ! I also love the technique of hidden die cut but till now I did not have word dies big enough to try it ! Two fab cards for this new challenge ! ReplyDeleteThat vase is AWESOME! What a brilliant design with the geometric lines - even the flowers look geometric with their stylized lines. Totally fabulous! And I too love the hidden die cut technique so your second card really appeals to me. Great idea to use black card stock layers for extra definition - it looks super. Love it! Have a great weekend x

That is one of the most beautiful circklestamps I have seen until now and I am glad to see it outside the Netherlands.... Enjoy the sunny day!

ReplyDeleteWhat exquisite cards you made this week Nonni! That top one reminds me so much of Charles Rennie Mackintosh's artwork. Great idea to only shade the roses and leave the vase as flat coloured because it really makes the roses look like they are coming forward out of the card. Love the swirly circles on the second card with the camouflage part of the sentiment. Absolutely gorgeous xx

Completely arty and the added sparkle on your first one is a real show-stopping trick. I'm in love with that camouflage sentiment technique that you've showcased on the second one too. What a cool flower stamp! So geometric in style and nicely colored, I like that you kept the flowers in neutral colors and added bright ones to the vase. Very effective line frame too.
