Time Out Challenges Reminder!

Hi friends!
I'm here to remind you of our current challenge at Time Out where we want you to be inspired by something in your wardrobe! A fun, a bit different theme don't you think!

I was inspired by a long dress I bought in December for all the holiday time festivities. It's such a comfy dress because it's not tight from anywhere... Yet it has some sort of cut and shape, it's not one of those overly floating sacks! :) The photo of it is just a quick snap of me standing in a hotel room before heading to dinner but here it is:

In my card I've tried a new to me technique where you stamp your images with colored ink first and then with versamark and heat emboss them with clear powder. That makes the images to resist the black ink you can then sponge on top. These Altenew flowers have a base layer stamp that covers the whole image and that's what I've used for the versamark stamping. I quite like how this turned out, it all being "one layer" makes it look like fabric a little bit! I finished the panel with some white gold water color splatters. The sentiment is by Waffle Flower. Hope you like!

I look forward seeing what you'll create for us. Our winner gets a $20 gift voucher to Poppy Stamps and will be invited to guest design in a future challenge. This time the guest designer is talented Lise Mariann! Make sure to visit her and all our DT blogs for more inspiration.

I'd like to join:
Stamping Sensations: Favorite Stamps (this Altenew flower set is surely an oldie but a goodie, one of the reliable faves in the stash! This is my 3rd entry)

New Challenge at Less Is More!

Hi friends!
I'm here with my DT card for the new Less Is More challenge! We have our one layer challenge for you so remember to use just one piece of cardstock folded in half! The theme of our one layer challenge this time is:

The month of January is sponsored by Skull and Cross Buns. Do play along in all of our January challenges for a change to be a monthly winner. You'll also be invited as a guest designer in a future challenge! This time our guest designer is the talented Jen, our October winner.

In my card I avoided the card centre by stamping my Catherine Pooler flower cluster twice so that it points to the centre but leaves it bare. I also stamped the sentiment (Altenew) to the corner of the card. The images are colored with Copics and I also added white gel pen accents. No extra embellies or anything to keep the CAS look of the card!

Hope you like and thanks for popping by. I hope to see you playing along!

I'd like to join:

CASology: Repeat (same stamp twice)

Guest Designing at Penny Black Saturday Challenge... Card 2 for January!

Hi friends!

Here's my second GD card for Penny Black Saturday Challenge in the month of January. This challenge is an 'Anything Penny Black Goes' with a monthly optional twist and this time the twist is 'Something New'. I have used a new to me Penny Black flower stamp so I have gone with the twist! I think this stamp is so pretty and unique looking that I kept the rest of the card super simple. I've colored the image with my Copic markers. Hope you like!

Thanks again Helen and all the team at Penny Black Saturday Challenge for inviting me to join you in both December and January!

New Challenge at Inkspirational!

Hello friends!

I'm here with my DT card for the new challenge at Inkspirational where we are inspired by the prompt word

'Fauna'

I could not help to think of Flora and Fauna and added the flower theme to the mix. :)

The stamps and dies I used come from Waffle Flower and it was my first time using them -and boy did I enjoy making this card!! I love the dimension here: The flower is not die cut but stamped directly to base and then covered with masking paper that was cut with the co-ordinating die. I then sponged and splattered the background, revealed the flower and begin coloring with my Copics. The butterflies are die cut "for real" and popped up from the base.

This sentiment must be one of my new favorites now and I bet you'll see it in so many cards in the future lol! The pink coloring of the flower looks a bit flat in the photo but I think it looks alright IRL. Hope you like and thanks for popping by! Lots of DT inspiration and all the challenge details HERE

I'd like to join:
Simon Says Monday: Something New (the stamps + the technique of masking stamped image with co-ordinating die)
Simon Says Wednesday: Fun With Florals

Stamping Sensations: Favorite Stamps (the sentiment is a new favorite for sure!!)

Time Out Challenges Reminder!

Hi friends!
I'm here with my DT card for the current challenge at Time Out were we are inspired by this fabulous photo:

I was inspired by the overall colors of the photo, the stripes in the plate and the big love- word.

Our sponsor in this challenge is Funky Fossil Designs and I had fun playing with two of their awesome products:

Our winner will receive a £15 gift certificate to Funky Fossil Designs

My card was easy to make but it did take some hours. I first stamped the flower image and cut a mask for it and masked it. The shape is pretty intricate so this took some time! :) I then stenciled the mandala design on top with two tones of red DI:s and then removed the mask and stencil. Time for Copic coloring... and after that was done, some splatters and putting the card together, also adding the die cut love-word. My opinion on the card varies -one moment I think it's fab, other moment I think it's messy... But at least it was fun and relaxing to make lol!

I hope to see you joining us at Time Out

Guest Designing at Penny Black Saturday Challenge!

Sorry everyone, this post is a couple of hours late from when the challenge went live... I need a new head lol! :)

Anyway friends: Here's my first GD card for the January challenge at Penny Black Saturday challenge blog. This challenge is an 'Anything Penny Black Goes' with a monthly optional twist and this time the twist is 'Something New'. I have used a new to me Penny Black flower stamp so I have gone with the twist! I've watercolored the stamped flower image. The background is made with inking through a Marianne Design stencil on a faux watercolor designer paper -I love all the hues of yellow and orange I received with stenciling on this paper that had an ombre look already to begin with! I felt the card needed some black accents, hence the patterned paper and sentiment strip. Hope you like!

Thank you Helen and all the DT members at Penny Black Saturday Challenge for the opportunity to guest design for you!
