Time Out Challenges Reminder!

Hi friends!

I'm here to remind you of our 5th birthday challenge at TIME OUT! I can't believe we already turned 5... My life has turned upside down (and even several times!) during these 5 years... It's good to have some stability in your life though... So I'm very grateful to Sandie for keeping this challenge blog going!

To celebrate TIME OUT and our fabulous leader Sandie I wanted to make a card with her on my mind. This card has a lot to do with her: I've received the Concord and 9th flower stamps from her as a gift and also the Winnie and Walter sentiment die cuts are from her... I know she likes my coloring and also I tried to keep my design CAS for her taste... So I hope she likes this!  Love you hon!

All the flowers are simply stamped and colored in with Copics on kraft. I've added some gel pen details + splattered white and gold paint on top.

The challenge is Inspired by Words:

The winner will receive an amazing $50 gift voucher to STAMPlorations store! Please have a look at all the details and more DT inspiration from our challenge blog HERE. This time Kara joins us as guest designer! LOVE LOVE LOVE the floral card she made for our reminder post, don't miss it!

New Challenge at Inkspirational!

Hi friends!
We have a new challenge for you at Inkspirational! This time it's a photo inspiration, have a look:

So cute, right? I was inspired by the white & pink -color combo, the heart-shaped cookies and the bold sentiment on them. I used a Concord and 9th die for the heart and the die cut Winnie and Walter sentiment is a pressie from my good friend and fellow Ink team mate Sandie. :) The heart is inked with distress inks and I added splatters of water, pearl white water color and white acrylic paint on it. A very simple CAS card!

Have a look what the rest of the Ink design team created from HERE and I hope to see you playing along!

Time Out Challenges Reminder!

Hi friends!
I'm here to remind you of our current challenge at TIME OUT where we challenge you to be:

We are sponsored by Birch Press Designs and as always we also have a fabulous guest designer... This time it's the CAS-loving Jane and if you are not familiar with her work, you are in for a treat!

In my card I'm using an AMAZING floral cluster by Concord and 9th. I bought this last fall but this is the first time I colored it (I used Copics) and it was so enjoyable! I ended up adding lots of glitter detail with Stickles and I couldn't resist some white gel pen too. The sentiment stamp, perfect for this challenge I think, is from the same set. Some light inking and stenciling for the background.

I hope you'll now head on over to our challenge blog for more inspiration! I look forward seeing what you'll create.

Crafting with my friend Milla!

Hi friends!
Some days ago me and my crafting buddy Milla decided to create together although we have not been physically in the same place (we do meet sometimes and craft all days long but this time we didn't). We chose a stamp we both have and made a card with it... Interested to see how different the outcome would be! The stamp we chose is Hello Lovely by Concord & 9th -something we both find a bit tricky to color in. Since I wanted this to be pretty nice, having this "challenge" with Milla and all... This is my fourth attempt! :) I'll not bore you with all the details of what went wrong with the 3 first cards... At least I'm quite happy with this one! This is such a fun image to color if you count out the small flowers (that I colored in with light blue), they somehow don't behave! :) And well, masking this is a pain as well... In this final version I masked only the biggest flowers and leaves and decided I would use so dark Copic colors for the small flowers and branches that they would cover the blue background ink I laid before coloring in the flower. I've added a detail photo so you can see how this looked after taking the mask off -the small flowers and the branches are covered with blue ink but it doesn't matter for the final coloring. Hope you like and thanks for popping by!

New Challenge at Less Is More!

Hi friends!
I'm here with my DT card for our new recipe challenge at Less is More:

Dimension is one of my favorite "spices" to add to clean and simple card making so I just love this recipe of ours! I'm happy to be back at Less Is More after a break for one whole month -I've moved house and my crafting supplies have been out of reach. Slowly getting back into the swing of things!

The month of October is sponsored by Uniko. Play along for a chance to win a fabulous prize... And for a chance to be called to guest design for us! Our guest designer this time is Claire and her card is full of great ideas for dimension -don't miss it!

My card is created with dies by Concord and 9th and Winnie and Walter. As soon as I saw this glorious leaf die from Concord and 9th I knew I had to have it. I love the large size and the detailed look! I cut the leaf from orange card and gave it ombre ink blending for more dimensional look. I also spashed some golden water color on it for sparkle. I've popped up the white pierced rectangle (cut with Winnie and Walter die) and the sentiment banner with fun foam for extra dimension. The sentiment is heat embossed with white powder for subtle extra dimension! Hope you like!

New Challenge at Less Is More!

Hi friends!
We have a new challenge for you at Less Is More:

Let me apologize for the bad quality of my photo, I hope you can see all my stripes... I lost the memory card of my camera and I couldn't do much editing or anything with this pic that I just took with my phone. :(

In July our sponsor is Seven Hills Crafts, make sure to play along in all of our challenges for a chance to win!

All elements of my card are simply stamped, this was a super quick one layer to make! In addition to stamping my only extra detail is in the veins of the heart-shaped Concord and 9th leaves -I went over the stamped lines with a Sakura glitter gel pen for little something extra. The shine looks lovely IRL but this is just the worst photo ever! :( The background stripes are stamped with a Prima background stamp.

I hope you'll now head on over to our challenge blog and then visit my lovely team mates! Happy crafting!

TIME OUT Challenges Reminder

Hi friends!
I'm here today to remind you of our current challenge at TIME OUT Challenges where we are inspired by this gorgeous Home Sweet Home photo:

So much to be inspired by here! If you however need some ideas, have a look at the rest of the DT cards HERE. As always we also have a fabulous guest designer and this time we are happy to have Ksenija joining us. She is for sure one of the most talented card makers in bogland and her blog is filled with inspiration on how to make the most of our crafty stash! Absolutely love Ksenija's work.

I was inspired by the wall paper. I chose kraft card as a base for my Concord & 9th flowers. I colored the flowers with Copics and added white gel pen details. The floral panel is cut with a W+9 die. This is such a girly photo to me and I wanted to use a girly die! :) I also die cut a plain circle to raise my die cut Winnie and Walter sentiment a little bit. Hope you like!

New Challenge at Inkspirational!

Hi friends!
We have a new, fun challenge for you at Inkspirational:

As always, our DT has made several inspiring samples for you, don't miss any of them, click HERE! This time the wonderful Sarah, one of my favorite bloggers and a DT buddy at Less Is More, is our guest designer, yay! Welcome to Ink, Sarah!

I immediately thought about children playing when I saw our word prompt and was then inspired in a couple of ways:

*First I had a good play with Brushos and white acrylic paint to create a background -to me splattering is as close to child like playing I know! :)

*I also love to color in, which is something kids also like to do... Hence the word "color" in my sentiment. :)

I've die cut the Concord & 9th heart twice -once from the brusho sheet I made and once from white, square card. I've created the pattern with the two pieces. It was actually not at all fiddly or time consuming because I for once remembered to use Stick It to back my pieces before die cutting them!

I left this without embellies -I was thinking it could be a good Valenitine's card for example and not so many guys are into sequins and stuff. :)

Hope you like and thanks for popping by!

TIME OUT Challenges Reminder!

Hi friends!
I'm here with my reminder card for the current TIME OUT Challenges 4th birthday challenge:

I'm using stamps from our fabulous sponsor Concord & 9th, the stamp set I'm using is called

I'm inspired by the word "love" in our quote: the flower cluster in my card is in a shape of a heart and surely the sentiment is for a beloved friend!

I've heat embossed the image with white powder on kraft (neenah) card and colored it with Zigs and and old Wink of Stella pen, filled with water. This gives the coloring a lovely shine. I was surprised how well the kraft card stock handled water -I was very light handed and maybe that helped but I got only minimal warping. I'm really in love with kraft card at the moment! I embellished the card with white and black paint splatters. The sentiment, simply stamped, is from the same stamp set.

I hope you'll  now head on over to our challenge blog and see what our DT members and talented guest designer Claire have made for your inspiration!

New Challenge at Less Is More!

Hi friends!
I'm here with my DT card for our new challenge at Less Is More:

So, it's our one layer week... Remember to stick with one piece of card stock folded in half, no additional layers attached! :)

The stencil I've used comes from our March sponsor, STAMPlorations. I decided to play with the "white ink shadow" technique on kraft card -I haven't tried this before and wanted to see how it would look. I like it! I stenciled the design first with white pigment ink, then moved the stencil slightly, and used couple of shades of DI:s for the colored flowers. The sentiment is simply stamped. It comes from a Concord & 9th stamp set. I added a couple of small pearls for embellishments.

Thanks for popping by, friends! I hope you'll now head on over to our challenge blog for more DT inspiration and all the challenge details. STAMPlorations owner and designer Shery is joining us as a guest designer -love the funky card she created for us! Don't miss it or any of the fun, click HERE

Time Out Challenges 4th Birthday!

Hi friends!
At TIME OUT Challenges we are celebrating our 4th birthday, woot woot! I can't believe how fast time goes and how big the challenge has grown -mostly thanks to our wonderful Time Out boss Sandie! Very proud and happy to have been her partner in starting this blog and nowadays continuing as a "regular" DT member. I hope you'll all check our blog, all the DT inspiration and the current Inspired bu Words challenge:

Our guest designer this time is Claire. I love Claire's clean card making style, her cards are always so so stylish!

Our whole DT got the opportunity to play with amazing Concord & 9th products. They are sponsoring the challenge with a generous $25 gift certificate for the winner!

Concord & 9th also has an inspiring blog -click HERE and check it out!

My card is inspired by the word "love" in our inspiration sentiment. There's heart-shaped leaves and a heart shaped masked shape in my card... Along with a sentiment for someone dear! The products used are:

I've played with Altenew, Memento and golden Delicata inks (the word "always" is over stamped with gold and has lovely shine!) and made some splatters with golden water color paint by Kuretake. The rectangle die is by MFT.

Thanks for popping by and I hope to see you playing along!

New Challenge at Less Is More!

Sorry for the unfocused photo, I try to get this replaced with a better one but please bear with this in the meantime! Clicking it larger might help a bit! :)
Hi friends!
We have the first challenge of 2018 for you at Less Is More and we also have some news: from now on you'll always have 2 weeks to play along, we are changing our challenges to run fortnightly! I hope you'll like this little change. We are still continuing with the monthly sponsors and with our familiar challenge rota so no worries, not too much is different! :) We actually have a new sponsor in January, Skull and Cross Buns. Exciting!

Now let's get into the details of our first challenge in January:

I know one person who just loves loves loves purples, my good friend Sandie , and this is my message to her:

Sandie , I challenge you to enter this challenge at least twice times during the next fortnight! How about creating 3 cards for us?!? Do I hear "challenge excepted"?!? :)

Our guest designer this time is the talented Wei. I really love the cute purse superhero card she created for us!

I've made a quick CAS card for this challenge using an oldie but goodie PTI stamp and sentiment stamp by Concord and 9th. My coloring is made with ZIGs and an old wink of stella pen filled with water -this gives such a lovely sparkle! I'm out of marker proof black ink so until I do some crafty shopping, no Copic coloring here! I guess this could be a good time to work on my water coloring skills! I forgot to stamp on Bristol paper (it's way better with ZIGs than normal watercolor paper) so this coloring job is very flat, not much dimension here... But oh well! At least it sparkles a lot! :)

That's all from me this time. Do visit my DT buddies for lots of more inspiration, I'm sure they have some extra cards in their blogs!

Here's another photo take on the card, this time in natural light... The sparkle shows better in the first photo though! :)

New Challenge at Less Is More!

Hi guys!
We have a new challenge for you at Less Is More and it's time for a color challenge in our rota and we have chosen Royal Blue and Lime Green for you to work with.

It's already September now which means we have a new sponsor for the new month. We are proud to have Happy Little Stampers joining us so play along and you could win a coupon to their store! HLS owner and designer Kylie is also guest designing in this challenge. Don't miss her card or any inspiring work by our DT, click HERE!

I must apologize for my photo... It was taken on a rather gloomy day and my colors look a bit washed out... I wish you could see them IRL! I've heat embossed the two Concord &9th flowers with white powder, water colored them with Koi water colors, masked them and stamped the background patterns with two Marianne Design stamps. The sentiment is also from a Concord & 9th set. I added tiny black Nuvo drops for embellishment. I find Nuvo drops so much nicer to use than sequins or real enamel dots. Maybe it't the fun of making the drops yourself! :)

I'd like to join

Thanks for popping by and I hope to see you joining us at Less Is More! This is a wonderful color combo, our DT is rocking it and so will you for sure! Happy crafting!

Card for Challenges/ Time Out Challenges Reminder -Better Late Than Never! :)

Hi guys!
I'm here to share a card I made with my new Concord &9th stamps. My wonderful friend Sandie sent this stamp set to me as a birthday gift and I absolutely love it. Thank you Sandie!

I missed the TIME OUT Challenges reminder post on Thursday due to hectic work stuff but our challenge is still running for a couple of days HERE. We are looking for autumn-themed cards with the option of speed stamping... Read all about the challenge from the link, I'm sure you'll be inspired by the work of our DT!

I wanted to color these flowers with soft earthy autumn colors and I begun this with stamping them with Rich Cocoa Memento ink instead of black. My coloring is done with Copics an I've added details with white gel pen, Wink of Stella and Nuvo drops. You can't really see the Nuvo drops or WOS in the photo but the shine and dimension is there! :) The frame die comes from MFT.
